Actually I find the model method quite easy to understand and much easy to teach. But my dd is the stubborn type, and her homework reflects her mood. If in good mood, all ok. If in grumpy mood, simple things can also be wrong.

Just hope she changes her attitude.
My other problem is being a working mom I just get few hours each day to coach her.
Just trying to make best of what I have. Rest on gods hand!

Totally understand the frustration. Sometimes feel like :frustrated: :stupid:

A child's attitude really makes a big difference. No matter how much effort we put in, the output is finally in child's hand. 🤷

I realized this in a bad way in P3. This year working with DD to improve her attitude in writing answers.
\"It's ok to write like this\" attitude will not work anymore. 😓

Must learn the correct method/way to answer questions (no matter which subject). Die die must follow, If not - be ready to donate marks to teacher.

Slowly mending her ways and 🙏 :xedfingers:
Kids are approaching teenage, so need to handle their emotional aspects too (seems like easily offended and sulk around the house).

Wishing all mummies and daddies good luck in the coming academic year! May all our efforts bring positive results .. :rahrah:

            mother777,

why do I find myself agreeing with everything you mentioned?
my daughter sulks at the slightest thing :stupid:
it is so frustrating when time is wasted trying to find out what went wrong.
is it a girl thing? I do not have such problems with my son. sometimes her 公主病 drives me nuts.

That's not 公主病 la. It's attitude problem. My dd2 has attitude problem too, sloppy in answering, in handwriting, 随随便便 do attitude. That shows up in her piano practice too. Anyhow practice & consider done. 交行货

I have 公主病 (老公主 la 😉 ) but I don't sulk or mood swing hor 😆

                Janet,

for a moment, I thought you were talking abt my daughter. 😂
                Very Very frustrating.
We only have 1 hr of study time with her. And she will spend some time sulking because need to do what, then some time walking around or telling you about something else, etc. End up only spend 30mins on work.
DH resorted to setting a timer to make sure she clocks 60mins. When she sulks, he will stop the timer. When she goes walk-walk, he will stop the timer.
Hope to correct this attitude SOON.

                Cheers !

every child is different…couldn’t agree more.

though my daughter is harder to manage, she has more initiative when it comes to getting work done…if she has sufficient rest.
we’re taking it easy with her…pushing her will only make us all stressed and counter-productive.

hope we can find some support to each other in this thread, as our kids are also going into the teens… like more rebellious and sensitive. sigh.

                    so challenging.

                      Sounds really tough for you.

The using of the timer sounded creative...how is she like in other environment or with other people like teachers?

one thing for sure is children behave differently in front of different people.

Anyone has any tips on compo? His compo dropped fr 16 or 17/20 to only 14. 3rd term he wrote out of topic. Wrote about stuff not even in the pics. Term 4 worse. Horrible handwriting, repeated words, and a mixture of past & present tense in his compo=>14/20 😞

                        Any suggestion/advice is greatly appreciated.

                        Read model compo.
                        Need brush up grammar too.

Ask him to check for spelling.
