Hi RI ks parents here,

Glad to find this thread ... Just completed my DS registration at RI on Mon and brought him to practice taking public transport between Sch and home.
I was impressed with the organization of the registration, the participation of senior rafflesians.

RI is totally new to me, will be visiting this thread to learn new things about RI Sch life. Already read some good advices from past posts.

DS' boarding is not in Term-1 too.. DS is happy coz he says Term-2 & Term-3 boarding is 10-weeks, whereas Term-1 boarding is 9-weeks only (minus 1 week at OBS)..

Yes, OBS is in week-1 (6-10 Jan).. 2nd & 3rd Jan is in week-0 of Term-1 next year.. Have you packed the items for OBS ? I have not..

Haha your ds really likes boarding - the longer the better.

I haven't packed for OBS yet - don't know where I placed the briefiing slides - the packing list should be in there. Got to start looking for it.

DS knew he got his 1st choice subject combi last month. He just told me his new class. A few boys from his Year-2 class are in the same class as DS..

Wonder how the Year-3 classes are allocated. By subject combi, then GPA ? Do the sports classes remain intact in Year-3 ?

Ngl.. How did the meeting go this morning ? DS went along ?

Not to worry.. RI uses its own in-house History materials (different from those in bookshops).. The boys will be advised when to get them when term starts.. Some classes will do History (or Geography) in Terms 1 & 2, while others will do it in terms 3 & 4..

DS is excited about 7-Eleven. His friend said there is a 7-Eleven in RI but we couldn't find it. Is it true there is 7-Eleven there? Where is it?

DS told me his class consists of triple science plus either Geo or history. Not sure about how are they allocated
