      Hello everyone!

My gal failed her eye test too and now she's 6 wearing glasses. My girl also has very serious dark circles from 5 months of age till now. Anyone with similar condition? I checked with specialist and told she had sensitive nose which causes the dark circles. After on medicine for half a year, I see no improvement and hence has stopped the medication.

Anyone encounter something similar, let me know. thanks!

I asked ENT Dr, once darkened, can't cure le, it's due to nose sensitivity, some medicine can lightened but not remove it totally le.....DS also on medicine & nasal spray currently. It helped the morning ah choos!

my son also has mornign ah choos problem...just wondering can he use the nasal spray everyday..would there be any side effect :?

Can someone explain what is the meaning of 6/12 and 6/09? Is it ok to have this result for eyesight or must wear glasses?

My boy has been wearing glasses since he was in P2.

These days, I made him read under a bright table lamp, never lie down on the bed while reading, and having him wash his eyes every hour or so of reading.

So far, the results have been good. He used to have his short-sightedness worsen by a 100 degrees per year. Now his eyesight have stabilised, although he is still only in secondary school.

Would you able to tell what is the degree equivalent for 6/12 and 6/09?

We are in the same boat cos my DD's hitting 1000 soon but she's in Sec 1. I never fail to worry about her eyesight since she started being myopic. SIGH!
Now giving her supplements like cod liver oil, bilberry, blueberry and wolfberry (eyes massage twice a day too). Very kiasu right!

                      Not kiasu.... just being concerned.

BTW, we used to bring DS1 to thomson for Eye Massage by a TCM. Diligently went there once a week for 2 yrs. But no use lei. That was when his power is 300. Every 10 session is $300.

We also tried Eye Relax. After trying for 6 mths, his power increased by 200.

Dunno what to do lah. Just leave it to destiny lah.

For kids who are older, try contact lenses and preferably the daily disposable ones if they are not suffering from high astig.

Mine use to go up until I changed to contacts. It went down slightly and stabilised. Same thing for my younger sis.

My niece has pretty bad myopia too and the optometrist also suggested contact lenses for better control. Problem is she has high astig as well and was prescribed permeable hard lens which were very uncomfortable so she refuses to wear them.
