Thanks everyone. So does anyone know if we can hang around the school? And if the books are available, how do we purchase it? Do we send money with our DD to school? My DD is quite sotong and I worry she loses the money!

        Bookshop operating Hours

Parents may purchase materials from the school bookshop during the following time slots:

        8am - 9am
        11am - 12 noon
        1:30pm - 2:00pm

only the following time parents are allowed to enter the school compound to purchase materials

this information can be found in the school website under announcement

        Thanks laemo.

Anyone know if the books that the P1 girls need but didn't get in the box are available yet?

        Thank you!

All the books are ready. I’ve just bought them yesterday. But I’m not sure whether the bookshop is opened today or not.

            Hi All,

The bookstore is not open today and parents can buy the rest of outstanding books from 1.30pm-2pm during weekdays (when school reopens) only.

Hi....would like to know how many of the parents here intend to make use of the affiliation to go to st margaret secondary school Is St Margaret Sec Sch good? The thread there/discussion seems not so popular.

My girl just graduated and went back to SMSS even though it is quite a distance for us. Thank God for the MRT. I like the school because of its leadership model... The girls are empowered and trained and it's a wonderful thing to see the girls allowed to handle events with poise and confidence. When we went for s1 registration, the new sec ones were expected to register themselves... Parents sat behind to wait... And the ones handling the registration were the prefects... I like that kind of thing. Academically they are a long time value added school... In the education circle, this speaks a lot more than just good results per se... Because it means that the students are doing better than MOE expected them to do (based on their PSLE results). Just my impressions so far...

I plan to send my younger girl there too....

Hi my girl will be in Joy come jan 2014. I recall being informed at the orientation that we are only allowed to stand along the corridor outside the hall on the first day of school. I am contemplating whether to drop by on the first day of school but not sure if it is useful if we can’t really see my girl and she is taking the school bus. Does anyone have any advise? Tks.

I went to the school earlier to pass the remaining things to YMCA. Yes, the bookshop is closed today and I dint manage to get the books needed. So can we enter the school on 2 Jan from 8am onwards to get the books?

                      Thanks

                        Hi

Does anyone know what are the things the P1 girls need to bring on first day of school? Also I’m wondering if we are allowed to hang around to observe our girls for instance during recess time…

And does the school communicate regularly to update parents? We get principal’s letters frequently via email and also available on website. Not sure what is the practice of communication for SMPS??
