Wow, the video is really good! I am touched!!! 😒

Working women who giving up working or giving up to fat pay package to be transformed into a housewife should be highly honoured. They are in fact a champion builder, contribute to society and economic growth and advancement by nuturing a all-rounded personality and character into this country's future. With knowledge, love, forgiving and acceptance in education and naturing our young ones (not pampering !!) I see bright future for our country. and therefore in due time, we do not need foreign workers to fill up any job/position opening.

        Hi,

How smart or how tall is the kid, not so important, I mean for my ownself.

More important is the Moral. Been see so many old folks collect those used carton box/newspaper yet their children are super rich who own big car and big houses at Lentor / Bukit timah… :x

          tamarind:
          I agree with 2ppaamm.

My girl is in P1 now, she almost have no homework from school. I have only bought her one Chinese assessment book. She does not have any tuition or enrichment classes except her piano class.

I don't believe in using assessment books to teach. I believe in reading as widely as possible. My homework for her is to read Matilda by Roald Dahl, which she enjoys very much, and also to read a few pages from a Chinese chapter book. After that she has a lot of time to do whatever she likes. She loves to draw and do paper craft. She likes to bake cupcakes, make her own jewelery, and now I am teaching her how to sew cloth bags.

Parents need to know the right method to use, and not just keep stuffing kids with assessment books. In fact, I looked at the some of the assessment books, and I am surprised at how badly written some of these books are. Kids should learn by reading good books written by the great authors, not by doing assessment books. My girl has learned far more vocabulary, better grammar and comprehension, as well as general knowledge by reading all the wonderful children's classics, and more importantly, she has a lot of fun in reading these books πŸ˜‰
Didn't mean to ignore your post, Tamarind. Your daughter is quite super, P1 can write 100-200 word compo :faint:. And you're always so kind to share your methods. Tks for sharing, and do keep us posted on what your daughter is up to - it's always nice to hear what kids can achieve.

sometimes people how lian, but a lot of times it is because they are ignorant in their small little worlds. And if we dig deep enough, there's so much these folks and we can gain if we were to judge them just a little less.

            :goodpost:

            :thankyou:

I am also waiting for that day. The day that we can rely less on foreign workers and become much more productive as a nation. And the taxes we pay goes back to our children instead of funding other transient beneficiaries.

Me too, best decision I ever made is to stay home to :snuggles: with my kids. I'm happier at home than at work.

However, I've to entertain this question every CNY: Why aren't you working? Wasted your Masters degree! πŸ˜›

But you are nurturing your kids - the Masters of tomorrow.

I'm envious really of those who made the step of going into SAHM and am very sure that their kids will certainly benefit from their presence. Now a FTWM, I feel the lack of time. Although I take care of them once i'm back, it just seems like a lot of time was wasted in the interim (thanks to doting grandparents....a lot of things can siam).

Nothing is wasted. Your kids will learn much more from you than any teacher they can ever have! Look, you are the Master Teacher!

                        Dear Mummies who are SAHM,

It's not easy to take tat step to be a SAHM. I've been one for 11 years and I can't imagine myself going back to work. True, I get stressed with the kids at home but there is a special bond with them. I know what they are thinking and although I am the 'bad' guy, they understand I'm doing so for their good. Daddy being the good guy still cannot beat me in terms of closeness.

                        Sleepy,
Your Masters is not wasted...you are nurturing your children. It's well worth it. :celebrate:
