Although getting a good maid is heng or suay, a better maid agency will help you to filter the right one and most importantly, able to help you when you and the maid run into problem.

The maid agency i used is the most expensive in term of agency fee and salary for the maid( u can pm me for name). The owner flies to Manila to interview the prospective applicants personally. She will reject those that are not fit to be FDW. We can view on the video how she interview the maid in philippines and it gives you a good sense about the maid -body language and look. We will also get the tel no to call the maid directly without the presence of agent ( to avoid agent coaching at the back or interference). so far my relative and myself had decent experience with my maid, all can work type, and my maid’s friends who came through this agency has no problem with their employers, among all i heard only one being returned (which is very lower percentage compared to some other who openly admitted to me only 50% of them can make it throguh 2 years contract). Of course, along the way, I do have some challenges with my maid(not too serious type anyway), and I called her up for advice. She provided me good advice/tips how to deal with her.
For me I do not mind to pay more to use a better agency, because having problem with maid means more money and time wasted, worse still if she abuses your young children or elderly. We should avoid those maid agency who instigate the maid to transfer or those who do not bother to counsel the maid or advice employer properly when things go wrong - you can check this data through MoM website on the maid turnover rate. Some maid agency will treat you nice before you get the maid from them and then change attitude after you get into problem with maid. I will also avoid those agencies whose owners are philippino as they tend to pro the maids.
For those who get ex-Sin, you can verify their work history through Mom website ( very easy to DIY) as some agencies lied or did not conduct due diligence.

Some very good advice u have there. The better agent will help you filter and not just close the deal. These are never mend by Pinoy or Indon themselves.

How come agency fee varies so much from agency to agency? Some are like $288 and others are like $699 and saw one charging $1200 for Indon and $488 for Myn & Phil ?

There is a difference in quality …those who charge $288 or anything less than $788, they are " catching " village girls without any training and sending them to Singapore. So this girls come with zero knowledge.

As for those who are charging more than $900 in Agency fees are getting girls from proper training centres, legalised by Indonesian government, giving the girls some basic salary and then sending them to Singapore.

I got this info from an Agent who is the owner herself, who brings in girls based on their good job records. This was probably the first agency that was willing to share information with a customer…

                    Go for http://www.bestmaidemployment.com/

Look for Iza. They are very pro-employers and will go all the way to help you. They are flexible and will nego with maid and gives employer the best package (salary/off days/handphone)

When I have problem with my Myanmar helper, they always help to counsel and even get the Myanmar agent or a translator in Singapore to help you.

They will address your issues immediately.

Hmmm seems like getting a reasonable agency fee agency is important… Those that charge low fees tends to side with the maids so that they can recall their maid back and send them to another employer… Sounds like churning in my sense.

I employed a maid previously which was poached by this kind of agency which promised low agency fees and higher sAlary for them. This works for the maid advantage as they can have higher pay and easily find an employer due to lower agency fees. In the end, when you have probs with your maid… Not only will they not find a replacement for u but give excuses that it is ur fault then send this maid to another agency to earn.

Ultimately, agency fee costs do have an influence in our decision making but we got to think about the whole pic. Best is to check with MOM to see whether agency got received any complaints and stuffs. End day, chances of employers too free and makes complain are few. Most will go to this stage as last resort

May try this maid agency \"Jade Employment @ katong\"

Intend to hire a domestic helper to take care of my son and do general housework, so I went to a lot of agency to look for suitable maid. Came across this maid agency call Jade Employment, I feel their service is good and I'm glad that they actually intro me maid that suits my criteria and keep me updated all the times. I've finally can ease my mind.

At first I was wondering how come their agency fee is so cheap like $1. And was suspicious about their maids. But because their service to me is good enough so I trust and give it a try. I chosen the maid that I wanted and I waited about 2 weeks for the maid to come.

I'm happy with my maid now as she is really hardworking and she has a positive attitude. Although her English might not be as what I expected, but still acceptable as she can reply me and understand what i'm talking. 😄
