      Hi Non kiasu,

If you are interested to send your child to learn chinese classic. You may want to contact this teacher 90660429.

Please note that it is big class with parents accompanied and held in buddhism centre.

Aside of reciting chinese classic, the children get to learn the basic manners eg: what do do before having meal, taking off your shoes when returning home .......

Parents need to pratise with kids as many times as possible at home, otherwise the child will not be able to follow.
      .
Hi Charmaine_chong, what you have described sounds interesting. Before I call the teacher, can I find out where/what is the centre? Are there different classes for different age groups? Thank you.

        Hi CSB,

The class size is for 0-13 years old. So long the young children do not make noise, they will allow toddler to attend. Sleep in class is ok for toddler.

We go to Geylang which is the HQ. They have other centre. You may need to check it out. I knew that they have classes in west, east, puggol as well.

You try to find out from her. The fee is very affortable as they are volunteers without getting a cent but the quality is TIP TOP.

You try to find out more. Is really interesting. I get to know that education is so simple, need not to pay so much for enrichment, right brain, blah…

          Hi Tamarind,

I have been following your posts and blog frequently and as per you recommendation, I place an order for some Chinese books at http://www.dangdang.com. After much difficulty in placing the order and making the payment, the current status has been the following for almost 2 weeks already. Is it supposed to be like this? Please advise whether the order is ok. Thanks.

          Thanks.

          Hi,
Did you receive an email from dangdang asking for you to verify your credit card ? For problems like this, you should email [email protected] to check with them directly.

i have the same problem! emailed them and they said it took longer to verify because it's an overseas cr card...still waiting for them to complete the verification...

              Hi Tamarind and Windows,

Thanks for your advice. I have emailed them and they have reverted with an email to verify credit card details... Hopefully, it won't take too long for the books to arrive.... its the CNY and not too sure whether this will affect the delivery....

I have been trying to get 四五快读 but it's always out of stock.... should I order whatever level is available first or should I have wait for the whole series...? I actually wanted to start off with level 1 but it's oss....

              Mummies,
Do you have any recommendation on games using Chinese cards? I bought the Odonata readers with the flashcards.... so far, I only played picture matching using the memory style and rearranging words to form phrases.... I have difficulty getting ds to remember characters which are not nouns or verbs.... eg. 是, 有, 的, 会

              TIA! 😄

I am also trying to buy 四五快读, but still waiting for citibank cc. Willing to pay the shipping from amazon china but the 1st book is also oos! In fact, a lot of books recommended by Tamarind is oos at amazon.cn!

Is it true that if you join spree for bulk purchase, you can get the books even though it is oos because dangdang will get it for bp?

                  http://misc.dangdang.com/groupbuy/Default.aspx

I join spree to buy this set of readers as it is always not available at Dangdang. You can see lots of ppl buying this set of books.

                      Hi Charmaine

Thanks for the info. How long did you wait to get hold of the books from spree? I know there are some dangdang sprees in Singapore Motherhood Forum. I am however, reluctant to join spree as often, due to sheer amount of order, the organiser will need a long time to sort out the order. Also must fix a mass meet up time etc.

I called up a shop in Bras Basah 友谊企业 and they told me they’ve ordered the books but must wait till march!

I just keep my fingers cross that amazon.cn will have stock soon.

Will it be easier to order from dangdang if we have an account with Bank of China (singapore branch)? Be it a saving account or credit card?

                        Anyone can advise on this?
