pup_love_Claire:
Thank you pup_live_Claire, didn't see tianzhu first explanation, it is clearer to me than the 2nd one. I understand now. Thanks u and thanks tianzhu!Hi S-H,
the ratio and unit price are multiply together to create the total price for 1 SET of the mentioned items e.g 3 staples and 4 rulers. The ratio sort of give you the items to make a group or set. From there, we can calculate how many group/set are there in the given total amount.Hope it helps.

Changing ratio method. The ratio of Sally's age to Peter's age is 9:5.
The ratio of Simon's age to Peter's age is 3:2.
Find the ratio of Sally's age to Simon's to Peter's
Since Peter appeared to compare with 2 different people, however, he is still the same. So we have to find a common multiple to convert his ratio to be the same. Normally, take the 2 numbers of Peter's ratio to cross times each other.
Sally:Peter
(x2) 9:5 (x2)
18:10
Simon:Peter
(x5) 3:2 (x5)
15:10
Sally:Simon:Peter
18:15:10
Hope it's easy to understand -
