Aiyo.. I meant YOU, not your DS, getting ready for DSA ? šŸ˜†

I was the one who compiled DS1's Portfolio File last time. Didn't do much, just sorted out & photocopied the documents, Certs & result slips (P4 & P5 SA2, P6 CA1 & SA1) and placed them in a folder. No personal statements required for RI & HCI DSA, if you are considering these 2 schools.. Very simple process.. šŸ˜„

I thought the child will hv to write some intro abt himself? HCI.. He will :siam: cos his CL is still :imdrowning:

I think ACS & SJI may require, but not RI HCI NUSH..

For RI.. Just need to fill up application form on-line, print out form, submit form with attached documents at Gen Office, sit for GAT (for those who got <80% for P6 CA1 & SA1 combined), attend interview, that's it..

For HCI.. Same procedures as RI, but compulsory for all applicants to sit for a written test & attend interview..

For NUSH.. Round 1 - written Math & Science Tests,
Round 2 - Camp..[/quote]Thanks FF38. For RI, exemption fr GAT is based on p6 results only ? 2013 DSA was based on p5 and p6 results. Is 2014 reqmt out already ?

Not sure any changes but ACSI only required one HAST and no personal statement or interview. They also donch seem to be interested in the portfolio, just submit stapled copy...no binding or file required

DS is a mainstream kid. During his time (DSA 2012), ACSI requires a personal statement. Not sure what exactly does the portfolio has for others, but for us it's just all the various photocopied results+certs, simply stapled & thrown into a pile šŸ˜‰ Yeah, remembered they took out the hard files of some others, basically only require the bare minimal.

ACSI required personal statement for DSA 2011 too..

For RI & HCI, we also didn't need to submit file, just needed to submit a set of photocopied documents. stapled together with the application forms. All thrown into a box, I saw!

            For RI DSA, need to submit P4 SA2, P5 SA2 & P6 CA1+SA1 results.

            For HCI DSA, need to submit P5 SA2 & P6 CA1+SA1 results.

For exemption of GAT (RI), P6 CA1+SA1 must be 80% & above..
In my opinion, most important is still the child's P6 results..

Application should be open around April-June ?

DS2 has started with his Math & Science tuition classes.. DS2's strongest subject is Math, followed by Science, but I am not taking any chances this year..

DS2 enjoys the 'extra' lessons coz many of his friends are there too (a centre set up by ex-HODs of his Pri Sch).. DS2 says go tuition can meet girls too.. šŸ˜†

Still sourcing for Eng & CL tutors for DS2.. Searching searching... šŸ˜“
Hi Firefly38, May I have the name of your DS' Tuition center name ?

For CL, Busybee is a good choice, my DD went there a month ago, she likes it. More importan, really got improvement in this short period.

I am searching a good Eng too.
