2010 P1 Registration Exercise for 2011 In-Take

not all school choose the reduced intake approach. Some chose to switch campus or build additional classroom at existing campus.
You are right to say that it does not apply to all schools (and I also did NOT say that). Some schools are already in single session, some schools will need to be combined, some schools will build new premises ... so I am just trying to share my real life experience.
Well, is up to the forumers here to take the relevant advise accordingly. Who ever participated in this thread, has shown that they care for their kids ... if not, they would not have been here. -

Yes, I think is always good to find out early so that you can strategize your P1 registration approach.marudine:
Though the birth rate can be low, but you may need to check out the school's intake figure for next year.
That's right! That was my first :? in my last post.
It was a real bad experience when you think everything is ok, and then double hit for being balloted out. I have to admit that I did not do my homework well, and ended up in that situation. -

correct me if wrong.
FYI, there are NO kindergartens in Singapore that have affiliations with primary schools, regardless of whether they have the same name.smurf:
Catholic Church kindy usually has not affiliation with schs.

is Nanyang Kindergarten aff to Nanyang Primary. Those in Nanyang Kindy ll stand higher chance to get into NPS. Well...they hv same foundes day together and usu together as Nanyang family day together wif NYGH. likewise what i understd is Nanyang Pri is aff to NYGH but not HCI. -

Hi,
Anyone out there knows any thing abt this Anderson Pri?? Is their school students well behave, teachers good or not & etc…
Cheers,

My son is born in 2004 and now I am also in a dilema where should I sent him to. Radin Mas and River Valley are within 2km from my place but balloting under 2C for RM would mean very low chance and risky… As for RVPS, any comments? My alma meter is Pei Chun Pri, or shd I just send him there?

Hi strawberries,
I think you can visit the threads on \"[Bukit Merah] Primary Schools\" and \"[Central] Primary Schools\" for comments on Radin Mas & RVPS. Sorry I don't know how to attach the links here as I'm also quite new  -

There is a member here, Titank, that was making the same decision last year as you are now, choosing between RVPS & Radin Mas.
you might want to check with him or read up his last year's post.

I would suggest you pop by the school before school, during recess and after school and see for yourself how the students behave. It is unlikely you will be able to enter the school though and can only see from outside.
Try to speak with some of the students and see how they carry themselves & hold the conversation.
You can also wait for open house. Some schools hold open houses in June Holidays before the registration period.
Good Luck !

Hi Mummies,
There are several options schools/MOE can take regarding the transition to single session - build annex building next to present school, find a new location, cut down classes etc. Bottom line, they have to meet MOE’s guideline to move to single session 2016 or 2018.
Children born each year are getting lesser too, so cutting down P1 classes would be an option, but it means parents aiming for their choice school will have to ballot.
