It's an old article but still very relevant. Below is a write up with pointers when employing a maid

      http://singaporemaid.blogspot.com/2007/07/how-to-manage-maid.html

On the right hand side are also useful topics

Hope that this will help employers in some way

teaching my maid how to use the dishwasher can really vomit blood :x

Wah your maid so lucky, got dishwasher to do the job for her!
But i think she would be better off washing plates the manual way.
Personally, i don't know how to operate a dishwasher myself!
The thought of cleaning the dishwasher also puts me off! πŸ˜›

After some time, they will give up and use hands to wash. You need to clean the dishes properly b4 putting them into the dishwasher anyway. All my maids ended up not using the dishwasher.

Now that I have no maid, I am using it, mainly because I can't stand dirty dishes hanging everywhere, and the dishwasher dries the dishes, which saves me lots of time.

U must be using an old model. The latest models only require large pieces of food to be disposed before putting the dishes in. No pre-washing or rinsing is required.

O? So sorry. I bought mine 2 years ago. The new ones will clean milo and all those rice off as well? Then I'll go get one ASAP!

After drinking milo/coffee, soak cups in water. Ditto for rice cooker pot/curry pot. The next day just empty water n dump inside dishwasher. 90% of the time everything cleaned off. 10% of the time is because left the stuff to cake for too long LOL then simply need to soak longer that's all.

Thanks for the tip! I will leave a pail of water for soaking from now. I used to put brush or wipe off all the oily and stubborn stains and put them in the washer immediately. :stupid:

U gals so cute, talking about dishwasher. My maid & I use our hands only lah πŸ˜„ I soak too, make it a habbit to use a basin to save water. Stubborn stain just add hot water, sure come out. The last time I used a dishwasher was when I was working as partime waitress during school holiday. That was 15 yrs ago  time flies. The dishes came out hot & sparkling.

I bought the dishwasher when i didn't have a maid....tried to train my wife how to wash dishes the water-economical way....die die cannot train wan....train her until i vomit blood....everytime even just washing a single cup, the faucet will be turned on full-blast....she says \"won't washing it faster save more water?\" :stupid:

For my family, using a dishwasher saves water. I won't say so for other families who are more \"train-able\" LOL
