The problem is all the popular schools in Tampines need balloting. I am really fearful if we do not get a place in the first place. Both child and parent will be devastated.Porky Pig:
My DD is born in Aug 2009 and will be starting P1 at 2016. Currently my DS is in Sec 1 in SHSS. I am also looking at getting a flat within 1km radius of SHPS. Tried my hand at signing up PV at SHPS but was not successful. Based on the past trends, i will only be eligible at 2C at SHPS with balloting involved. Can i have some advice whether i should change tact and move closer to other schools? Please enlighten me. Thank you.
Based on where you stay in Tampines, you can fall within 1 km of a few popular Tampines schools
I had the choice of balloting for SHPS or getting in Tampines straightaway at 2C. If I failed to get shps thru ballot, then i would have to settle for my 3rd choice. Decided to take the chance and ballot for SHPS anyways (YOLO!), which was a 1 in 2 chance. I guess it depends on how much chance you want to take.. -

Those of you who want to try your balloting luck at st Hilda primary in phase 2c -
Only one in every 2 kids lucky to get in.
If you fail to ballot into st Hilda, your child will end up in next phase 2c supplementary school.
So while you may want to try your luck at st Hilda, at the same time you must also be mentally prepared to go some other phase 2c supp school.
Last year (2013) -
A few of my friends failed to ballot into st Hilda, at phase 2c.
Now, their kids studying in opera estate primary. -

Really keeping my fingers crossed on the balloting. Hope that all will be well and that my Dd will be able to get in. -
If you not sure whether can get in or not -
is best to rent a house first, within 1km from st Hilda.
If can ballot in, then buy a house permanently later.
Many parents adopt this common strategy.
Many parents trying their luck, at balloting into st hilda -

Hello Parents,
I have hear that Gongshang will b shifting to Bedok for renovation to cater for single session. May I know whether does any parents hear of this too? If yes, does anyone knows when will they be converted into single session?
Many thanks!
there is NO shifting of school.
The school want parents to help them stop the spreading of this rumor(s), as some parents had got worried / upset, & been calling up the school now & then over this.
Gongshang primary school administrator had confirmed that :-
There is No plan for the school to shift out of her Tampines Street 42 premises. -
Thanks Phtthp for your confirmation!
Now I am relieved and 100% sure to go for this school!
