True enough! PEACE!!I guess the P is looking into this issue. Let's wait to see what she plans to do.
Some unhappiness here...but hope we can move on. Peace ok?
On the whole, Pei Hwa parents are diplomatic and willing to move on.
The haze must have got to some of us.
It takes many hands to clap and maintain peace..
Yes, let's move on with the hope that proper mannerism can be achieved.. -
I am glad I got to know about the issue. My ddโs class shares the same CL teacher as Respect 9 and I was just wondering why the CL teacher has been absent for sometime. Her class has a stand-in CL teacher from another class I think (based on what I managed to gather so far), but Iโm not sure how long this arrangement would take. It will be good if the school can provide some updates soon. Would be more appropriate if the updates are provided through a formal channel like a circular to parents, so that we are not left in the dark or guessing (or relying on inputs from the kids which may or may not be accurate)โฆ

It would be good if the school can provide update to parents, but sad to say, based on my experience for the past five years, Pei Hwa does not communicate with parents. Many important updates/happening I actually have to find out from the grapevine (other parents while waiting at the back gate) and this forum. There is no formal, proper channel other than the annual PTM in March. I would think it is a very basic and necessary need for the School to hold parental briefing for the respective levels at least once a year at the beginning of the year. However, for last year, there was no parental briefing for P1 parents although the Principal specifically said at the orientation briefing that there would be one later in the year. Looking at this year's school calendar, there is no briefing again for the P2 level even though this is an important year - the streaming year.
I understand that for many other schools, branded or not, the respective principals will meet up with parents at least once a year to update them on what to expect for the oncoming new year for the respective level. Some schools even publish periodic newsletter from the principal as a form of communication with parents, or help to organize parental networking sessions. In Pei Hwa's case, even a very basic formal information channel - school website - was \"under construction\" for almost one whole year last year.
In short, Pei Hwa parents have to work very hard to gather information. :yikes: -

Exactly!
Therefore, the intentions of parents who post here should not be questioned in a hostile manner. Otherwise, who would want to post anything in future, to share with existing and/or would-be PH parents?
Especially, working parents may not have many opportunities to interact with other parents.
Ok, time for me to \"let it go\"... -

Yes, evidence that some (or, one?) parents/parent are/is indeed hostile and trying to silence others from posting in a free and public forum.

Free and public forum does not equate to posting details of a private email publicly.
You mean thatโs alright by you?
Well, if you think so, weโre definitely on different wavelengths here. -

I think the above highlighted words speak volume, and speak for itself, crystal clear, huh??
So if anyone feel intimidated, the only thing we can and should do, is to shut up and retreat into silence??
So Is this what should be taught to our kids??? :?
'Suffer' in silence!!? hm....
so the kids who have been shuffling around in between classes,
also should remain silent, don't reveal situation to parents(especially when school don't inform at all),
just to uphold the good impression of the school??
& hush hush about everything?? :? -

Hello there..u losing the point (on purpose?!)Free and public forum does not equate to posting details of a private email publicly.
You mean that's alright by you?

Please get onto the right track la..
we already mention that posting the exact email is not appropriate,
(stop harping on this 1 single thing, which is the only 1 u can pick on now!!)
but I feel that sharing on the existing staffing problem is ok,
as it will bring attention to parents of that same class who may be unaware of the situation, or maybe other class also have such problems?
so that meanwhile, while parents graciously give P time to solve the problem,
parents can render help to make sure their kids do not lag behind..
Thus I think it is ok to share HERE NOW, before P solve the problem.
Seriously, I will be fuming mad, if I ONLY get to know about this problem AFTER it has been solved..
Can u imagine how far behind a child will be lagging??? -
As a concerned P2 parent, I'm glad that someone shared abt this. If it was my kid's class , I wld be quite upset and anxious abt the children's progress...
Luckily my ds's teachers ( both form teacher & Chinese teacher) are quite attentive since the start of school. Just to share, jus today I received a phone call from one of them updating me on his status & weaknesses to look out for. I'm quite thankful for such feedback & initiative from the teachers.
Maybe I'm \"'luckier'' ( or worse, my kid's work is so 'bad' tt teacher keeps calling me) , but I do have friends who email or leave a msg with the teacher to underst their kid's progress once in a while & I think it works in a way too ( rather than just relying on that 1 x session of meet the teachers)
peace okay...it's not easy to be a parent nowadays
All parents will have some amount of stress, out of love & concern for their kids...
