      this forum is free.

if the exact email had not been uploaded...many parents would be able to relate to frustrations about missing teachers. whether it is p2 or p6, I would be upset too, as there has been no proper class management. my son had encountered this and there were also incidents when the teacher screamed at the top of her voice at some lower primary kids for a trivial issue.

Exactly this forum is free, and for parents to share with each other what is happening school.

For us a small group of parents, the issue is not whether to post the email or not, whether in full, or just a description of the situation. The issue here is one parent should not question the intention of the parent who posted the email. The exact words were \"What do you hope to achieve by doing this?\". And the parent ended it with a word \"Think\".

To some of us who read it, such a way of questioning is very condescending and rude.
There are always many sides to any story. Even if one were to disagree, there is no need to go in such a line of questioning to put others down.[/quote]
      :goodpost:

totally agree to those words in bold!! especially so, as I do not see such condescending and rude posts in certain relevant branded elite school's parents forum!!
Seems like pei hwa parents are easy target for such condescending behaviour to be imposed on?!
& thus the feelings of being intimidated is genuine for some parents here!
If not, some parents would not have PM me to comfort me and told me to take it easy..'so & so' tend to talk like this..just ignore..etc
sadly, for past 2 years, since my girl entered Pei hwa, this intimidating feel has not subsided as no one dare to voice up..
So my point is, when one speak in a condescending tone ,
no one point out your lack of courtesy, does not mean u are right,
u are merely lucky to land yourself in a forum whereby there are a lot of GRACIOUS parents who let u have your way..
GO,TRY talk in the same condescending mannerism in other parents forum, where there are many lawyers, doctors and other professionals around,
see what you land yourself into there??
I don't understand why one can hold his/her tongue & watch what to & Not to say in certain forum, whereas in Pei Hwa forum, one can let loose and blabber whatever he/she fancy?!
Do Be thankful - to all GRACIOUS parents of PEI HWA!!!
And stop trampling all over PEI HWA parents!!

To maintain my graciousness..i shall revert back to my silence..
      Yet not intimidated, this time..

Many Thanks for your time to read my post..

I guess the P is looking into this issue. Let's wait to see what she plans to do.

Some unhappiness here...but hope we can move on. Peace ok?
On the whole, Pei Hwa parents are diplomatic and willing to move on.
The haze must have got to some of us.
        True enough! PEACE!! 🙂
It takes many hands to clap and maintain peace..
Yes, let's move on with the hope that proper mannerism can be achieved..

I am glad I got to know about the issue. My dd’s class shares the same CL teacher as Respect 9 and I was just wondering why the CL teacher has been absent for sometime. Her class has a stand-in CL teacher from another class I think (based on what I managed to gather so far), but I’m not sure how long this arrangement would take. It will be good if the school can provide some updates soon. Would be more appropriate if the updates are provided through a formal channel like a circular to parents, so that we are not left in the dark or guessing (or relying on inputs from the kids which may or may not be accurate)…

It would be good if the school can provide update to parents, but sad to say, based on my experience for the past five years, Pei Hwa does not communicate with parents. Many important updates/happening I actually have to find out from the grapevine (other parents while waiting at the back gate) and this forum. There is no formal, proper channel other than the annual PTM in March. I would think it is a very basic and necessary need for the School to hold parental briefing for the respective levels at least once a year at the beginning of the year. However, for last year, there was no parental briefing for P1 parents although the Principal specifically said at the orientation briefing that there would be one later in the year. Looking at this year's school calendar, there is no briefing again for the P2 level even though this is an important year - the streaming year.

I understand that for many other schools, branded or not, the respective principals will meet up with parents at least once a year to update them on what to expect for the oncoming new year for the respective level. Some schools even publish periodic newsletter from the principal as a form of communication with parents, or help to organize parental networking sessions. In Pei Hwa's case, even a very basic formal information channel - school website - was \"under construction\" for almost one whole year last year.

In short, Pei Hwa parents have to work very hard to gather information. :yikes:

              Exactly!

Therefore, the intentions of parents who post here should not be questioned in a hostile manner. Otherwise, who would want to post anything in future, to share with existing and/or would-be PH parents?

Especially, working parents may not have many opportunities to interact with other parents.

Ok, time for me to \"let it go\"...

If one feels intimated when questioned about one's post, then one should remain as a silent reader.

Ok, time for me to \"let it go\"... 😆

Yes, evidence that some (or, one?) parents/parent are/is indeed hostile and trying to silence others from posting in a free and public forum.

Free and public forum does not equate to posting details of a private email publicly.

You mean that’s alright by you?

Well, if you think so, we’re definitely on different wavelengths here.

                      Bingo!!
I think the above highlighted words speak volume, and speak for itself, crystal clear, huh??
So if anyone feel intimidated, the only thing we can and should do, is to shut up and retreat into silence??
So Is this what should be taught to our kids??? :?
                      'Suffer' in silence!!? hm....

so the kids who have been shuffling around in between classes,
also should remain silent, don't reveal situation to parents(especially when school don't inform at all),
just to uphold the good impression of the school??
& hush hush about everything?? :?

Hello there..u losing the point (on purpose?!)
Please get onto the right track la..
we already mention that posting the exact email is not appropriate,
(stop harping on this 1 single thing, which is the only 1 u can pick on now!!)
but I feel that sharing on the existing staffing problem is ok,
as it will bring attention to parents of that same class who may be unaware of the situation, or maybe other class also have such problems?
so that meanwhile, while parents graciously give P time to solve the problem,
parents can render help to make sure their kids do not lag behind..
Thus I think it is ok to share HERE NOW, before P solve the problem.
Seriously, I will be fuming mad, if I ONLY get to know about this problem AFTER it has been solved..
Can u imagine how far behind a child will be lagging???
