As a concerned P2 parent, I'm glad that someone shared abt this. If it was my kid's class , I wld be quite upset and anxious abt the children's progress...
Luckily my ds's teachers ( both form teacher & Chinese teacher) are quite attentive since the start of school. Just to share, jus today I received a phone call from one of them updating me on his status & weaknesses to look out for. I'm quite thankful for such feedback & initiative from the teachers.
Maybe I'm \"'luckier'' ( or worse, my kid's work is so 'bad' tt teacher keeps calling me) , but I do have friends who email or leave a msg with the teacher to underst their kid's progress once in a while & I think it works in a way too ( rather than just relying on that 1 x session of meet the teachers)
peace okay...it's not easy to be a parent nowadays
All parents will have some amount of stress, out of love & concern for their kids... -

You are lucky to have such teachers for your child. Some teachers will complain behind that parents harass them if we ask for feedback! -

If the email had been a complimentary one, thanking the school for the wonderful things the teachers had done, then perhaps no one would object, even though it is private?
In any case, if any post contravenes the terms and conditions of this forum, we trust that the relevant personnel/authorities would politely ask the forummer to take it down. For the rest of us parents, no one is above another, to intimidate and question another, his/her intentions for submitting a post; much less have the authority to tell those who feel intimidated to remain silent.
Given the longstanding lack of communication between school and parents, if parents shy away from sharing information or alerting other parents to what is happening in school, then we would have to work even harder to obtain such information. -
it’s tough to be a parent now…regardless of the school (all schools are good schools, remember?). staffing is always a headache, especially since teachers are in big demand. a friend of mine has 2 daughters in this school…the form teacher is always on MC for one of them and the other daughter sees relief teachers constantly. tests and exams make everyone worry when teachers are missing and syllabus is not on track.
give the P time to work on the issue…btw, did P acknowledge the email? if there is, someone senior should be working on it. -

In the end,
Parents from school x cannot find out what's happening in other schools : say y, z etc - since info become \"out of bound\" to outsiders, if yr child not studying here.
Example : kindergarten parents who wish to pose questions to pei hwa primary seasoned parents, any concern regarding this school.
One such example was a kindergarten parent who asked in a few pages back about -
How to enter pei hwa primary : if he is a member from a Presbyterian church ? Is this sufficient, or need extra criteria to come in ? Then one helpful pei hwa parent replied this outsider parent that one need to be active, serving in a church ministry.
Information cannot be shared nor obtained, readily.
Is this the objective set up by chief for Ksp, in the first place ?
To limit, confine & to restrict sharing of info, within a small community only ?
When chief design this Ksp forum :-
not sure if he ever consider want to add in this security feature before for each school thread, or whether it is even feasible, because then chief has to find resources to do password maintenance, for each school thread.
Then if there is a need to change the password (in case other non pei hwa primary parents happen to know the password to login pei hwa thread server) - how are all the thousands of pei hwa parents from p1 to p6, to be notified, when there has been a change in password logon ? -

I am glad I got to know about the issue. My dd's class shares the same CL teacher as Respect 9 and I was just wondering why the CL teacher has been absent for sometime. Her class has a stand-in CL teacher from another class I think (based on what I managed to gather so far), but I'm not sure how long this arrangement would take. It will be good if the school can provide some updates soon. Would be more appropriate if the updates are provided through a formal channel like a circular to parents, so that we are not left in the dark or guessing (or relying on inputs from the kids which may or may not be accurate)...
This issue has been endemic for a while. It gets more worrisome when even kids at upper primary are affected. The details are hazy now but I remember being v concerned when term after term in p5, my kid keeps getting relief teachers for core subjects. Both my kids also experienced problems re the quality of teachers and had teachers who taught them factually wrong things. When she was P3, dd was told in class that a guppy is a mammal! :siao: :yikes: I couldn't believe my ears and verified with several of dd's classmates who unfortunately confirmed they heard the same thing too. DS and his schoolmates also confirmed that their English teacher at P5 taught them techniques that weren't supposed to be used in PSLE which they had tinu learn in P6. However, the one thing I must say is that PHPPS did roll out excellent teachers in P6 and ds received some of the best coaching ever, so I held my tongue. -
