sharing is fine...after all, we are indeed here to share.
but certainly not sharing what is called 'personal details'. you know something, here at pei hwa thread, there are lots of sharing between parents about everything from ca1 to sa2, cca, bbq etc...never once had there been such a post like yours. when we praise our kids' teachers, there is no need to mention their names publicly.

Previously, there have been open discussions/talk about the teaching competences (or lack of) of PH teachers, clearly identifiable either by their names/surnames, job title (e.g. Subject HOD), teaching level, or a combination of these identifiers.


The latest case was on 2 Jan 2014, on page 1943.

No objections were raised during those times.

For those parents whose children were/are taught by those teachers (myself included), I believe we appreciate the frank sharing and advice, to take certain pre-emptive measures, to be more involved in our children’s learning.

For the named teachers, they can take the opportunity to improve their teaching competences, for the benefit of the children they teach (ultimately, this is what we parents are concerned about, isn’t it), so much so that parents can turn around to compliment them.

teachers are humans too. naming them or even parents whose kids are from xx class would be unfair to them since this is a public forum. this is cyber-bullying.

As in, no objections from parents here to name the teachers. Which could lead to other parents assuming it is ok to name teachers for sharing purposes.

I think we need to exercise our own judgement. Sometimes it's tough to share if we don't highlight who and who and which class. Unless we know who and who DS/DD in which class and send PM.

To me, if the teachers read this forum, they should take it as a platform to help them improve. Parents to a certain extent are the school customers. For those of you who deal with customers at work, doesn't your boss observe your relationships with your customers for your appraisals? If you can handle your customers well and make them happy, it's a win-win situation.
