What application form? :scratchhead: If you were referring to the form to register your girl with the school, this form will be given to you on the day you register. It has carbon copies, so there is no point printing it out from the website.

Anyway I asked my friend whom her gal in one of CHIJ school. Just bring along the baptism cert of child and parents (in case) to the day which moe announce the phase 2b dates

You are right. I checked with my colleague today and he confirmed,
1. atleast 1 parent should be Catholic
2. You (general \"you\") need the parent's baptism cert, the child's baptism cert and the parents' marriage cert.

Also, I think, the child's birth cert and citizenship cert (if any).

No. I think CHIJ (Kellock) is ahead of the curve in adapting to internet technologies and saving paper.

My friend's dd's school doesn't even put up their booklist on the web site, it is only distributed as a paper. :roll:

Wonder if its just me. My gal is in P1, but somehow feel that the homework is excessive for just a little gal.
There is simply hardly any time left after doing the homework and spelling.

I am just ranting, is it just us feeling this way?

My dd is in P4 now. We never felt that the homework was excessive. What we did notice is that homework was inconsistent. Some days, there was a quite a bit to be completed in one day, and other days there was literally nothing (even on days when the teacher was present). On days when there was a good bit of homework, it was usually a cumulative effect of homework in English, and Maths, and Science, and mother tongue, and artwork.


Can you give details of your dd's schooldays? When you say there is hardly any time left, do you mean that she doesn't have time to go downstairs to play? Or do you mean that she has to go to bed later than usual?

If I were in your place, I would get the teachers' emails or handphone numbers and establish a rapport. Then, on days when I found the cumulative homework to be excessive, I would write to the teacher(s) and negotiate a later deadline wherever possible. Sometimes, our dds don't note down the deadline properly. My dd would tend to assume that all homework was due the next day! It is only this year that she has realized that homework is due only before the next lesson (esp. for subjects like Science and Art, which are not scheduled everyday.)

Also, try to identify in which subjects your dd is slow and tackle those first. My dd finishes English and Science in a snap, but tends to dilly-dally in Maths and mother tongue. So as soon as she comes home, one of us (whoever is home) checks her homework diary and gets her started on the slower subject first. The quicker subjects are tackled later in the evening because they get done well even in a rush.

It seems like the regular monthly newsletter stopped after the new principal came on board? or is the newsletter now accessible only for parents and not the public?

How is the new principal?
