      Blobbi:
You mean no durians now? After all that durian talk, 😒 😒 😒 .

  Have not stepped into the shop lately, only seen the pots and pots of kumquat and CNY flowers everywhere, so I think their focus is on CNY stuff and not durians now. You want me to go and check if durians are still available but be warned, the next time I have to walk past the shop is on CNY itself on my way to Church but doubt I can find out anything for you on that day! πŸ˜› So I suppose you just have to bear with reading about durians from 717 now or go to Geylang area for your durian fix! πŸ˜›

          mummyjoyce:

          Hi,

My hubby loves durain and I am thinking of buying a durain cake or anything make of durain for him as a Vday gift. any suggestion (I know it is not very romantic but at least he will like it)

727, the cakery section of 717 sells very good and delicious durian cake or alternatively, make you own, the durian smell is heavenly!

          25hourmaid,

I always pass by there, never once tried. DH LOVES durians, think I will tell him to go there then to get his fix.

Anyway, DH gets his durian fix from ... you know last time in central got nippon paint shop, now taken over by those temp fruit stall. He buys from there, esp aft 10pm. He gets a good deal then. πŸ˜„

okie OT - Wah, didn't know you live opp 717. The Serangoon stadium nearby rite?? Love to jog there. Its soooo windy and nice. Contemplated the Wembly. Apts quite big, area oso gd. But pxs v high, dare I say ridiculous :!: . Even agent told us to be patient .....

I pass by that temp fruit stall sometimes, but dare not buy from them, don't know honest or not. :? I am quite particular about where I buy my durians. Most times we would go to Geylang area to get our fix, though we do go to 717 once in a while.

Their durians are very good and they are very honest, but a bit on the pricey side. I have known the boss and his wife even before marriage. My single friends and I, (one of whom is my husband now), used to patronise their old stall underneath the overhead bridge near Upper Serangoon Shopping Centre (where Nam Peng Centre is now). They then moved to the building where OCBC is now before settling down at Highland Centre.

I am not exactly opposite, don't know how to describe, but opposite seems the best description so far. I am actually somewhere near Upper Serangoon Shopping Centre, if you know where that is.

Do you still jog at Serangoon Stadium? Must meet up and go jogging together! Need to shed some kilos but no motivation to jog alone in the stadium!

Wembly is the new condo next to the stadium, right? From outside, the rooms look very small to me. Yes, good idea to wait a while before investing, afer all, it is a brand new condo, so should be quite ex and it is a no-frills condo, right?

Oops, we :offtopic: liao! Better get back to topic ...... King of Fruits : Durians!

Hi Blobbi, has the fats from CNY melted? πŸ˜‰

Just want to let you know that the durians are back at 717, though still quite limited in variety/quantity. Passed by just now and saw some people getting their fix of durians. πŸ˜›
