lol. i will not also. u make us so angry and still think we will want u back just because u r a school teacher? sometimes they think they are very big because they r school teachers.

My tutor not school teacher. I don't believe in getting school teachers, some more so expensive. If school teachers are good we also don't need let our DC go tuition.

Promoted to become a full teacher…that’s why ya ya payaya.

No more bond. I felt good when I told her 不必回来.

Agree with you. I had a few friends who engaged current MOE school teachers. After engaging them, my friends will go dig out info about what subjects the teachers are teaching in school. One of my friends found out that one teacher was an art teacher only and dare to apply to teach academic subjects and said she was MOE teacher.

To engage MOE teacher, must ensure that the teacher is teaching academic subjects like Eng, Math this kind. No point you go and pay so much engage a teacher who teach PE only or teach art only to come to the house to teach the child academic subjects. This is cheating on both the teacher and the agency side. Do not trust those agencies that say they have MOE school teachers. Parents should do their own background search. Always check that the teacher is indeed teaching in a primary school. Then speak to other parents from that primary school that she is teaching in to ensure she is really teaching the academic subjects. Nowadays, form teacher can also be PE teacher or art teacher. Open eyes big before engaging school teachers. MOE teacher can also be PE teacher or art teacher and if the agency sent one to you, the parents are the ignorant type, then good luck to the child. So parents, if you are engaging MOE school teachers to teach your child, start digging info out already about the teacher. You may be surprised by what you can find out through other parents through this forum.

Then if your child's tutor is ex-teacher, that is worse. Anyone who go to MOE apply do relief teaching for a month can also say they are ex- school teachers.

It depends on the level of teaching. If it is primary level, to study all subjects under the same tutor should be OK~ But you are talking about secondary levels, I think you should get different tutors to teach different subjects... Some tutors who are great in teaching Maths aren't good at teaching languages, vice versa ; )

If you worry that if the tutor quits you will have no tutor, hmm, it will be a bit inconvenient to have to look for tutor again but I think it wouldn't take long before you can find another suitable one! : )

My dd chinese tutor quit 10 weeks before her PSLE last year which is why my concern.

Omg. thats really unethical and inconsiderate. the most crucial period. I experience such cases before so now i go tuition centre cause i know they wouldnt anyhow change. haha[/quote]My dd never had tuition till beginning of P6 so I was inexperience in selecting tutor. Went agency to look for tutor for Science and Chinese. For the science tutor, she was good and responsible. For the chinese tutor, she is a chinese P5 teacher in one school which was a nightmare, as she always call in sick at the late minute. And decided to quit before DD's PSLE.

Luckily, I think her result was not affected. But I was very worried back then.
