If your son’s school is catholic high (all boys school in Bishan):-

First, find out whether got any school bus transport students, from Bishan to boon Keng. (Your in law place)
Find out first, because some schools’ Sch bus association, do not transport children, to all parts of sg.

You may apply to pv any good school you’ve in mind for your dd, first.
Then wait for results, see if you get selected or not, as a pv.
Nowadays, schools are highly selective over pv, particularly the popular schools that are affliated to good secondary schools.
Different schools look for different criteria for pv.
Go & find out yr school you have in mind, what sort of criteria are they looking for, first.

Also some schools are quite fussy / particular.
            In their application form -
they may state down explicitly that only if you stay less than 1 km from the school, then u can apply.

For pv, can apply more than 1 school.
If more than 1 offer come, u decide which one you like to pv.
If you apply pv only for 1 school & if the school happen to turn you down, then you can only try your luck, under phase 2c.

If you fail to get in via pv, then try grassroot way.
            Whether pv or grassroot -
Both fall under the same phase, 2b.
But watch out for the dateline, of application, via grassroot route.
There is another thread, that talk in detail about grassroot.

Wow! Very KS leh to start this thread. The children only in Nursery. Some still don’t know how to hold a pencil properly to trace.

By now, the 2010 born kids should know colours, shapes, counting objects correspondingly 1 to 5, recognize letters of the alphabets (can be in random order), know how to hold a "fat" pencil correctly and trace different types of lines independently.

Consider Northland Pri. Good school, better than Chongfu.

Chongfu is nearer to my house. northland too far. But to put my girl to school in Yishun will be a bit of challenge. Both myself and hub working so need to put kids to in law house at boon keng. Hence my first choice will be Hong Wen School. But PV dont know will get in or not...now still thinking of alternative schools....headache.. but tks for your recommendation 😄
