Thanks. Will check that out!TheAnswer:
Has anyone visited malacca recently? What do u enjoy most on ur malacca trip?
This was interesting to me and my boys - the submarine at the Submarine Museum (http://suitcasesandstrollers.com/articles/view/malacca).
Apart from which, we enjoyed dinner at the Portuguese settlement - nice atmosphere. ( http://magictravelblog.com/2011/12/dinner-at-the-portuguese-village-melaka/ - this blog has a few more eating places to recommend).
Have fun! -
Fresco:
Food not to be missed in Melaka:
1) Pak Putra restaurant - juiciest n tenderest tandoori chicken with the softest triple cheese garlic or butter naan.
2) Nancy's Kitchen - Authentic peranakan cuisine at Jonker Street
3) Tong Sheng Restaurant - Famous with the locals, great seafood especially crabs in butter sauce. Their steamboat is very popular too. A must go for me.
4) Chung Wah chicken rice - rice comes in balls n flavourful. It is the best one in Jonker street. However, standards have dropped due to overwhelming response from tourists.
5) Jonker 88 - Good Nonyna laksa and perhaps Cendol as standards have dropped too.
6) Teo Soon Loong Chan Teochew restaurant - Great authentic Teochew cuisine that your Teochew grandparents will favour. A bit pricey though.
7) Teochew Bak Kut Teh - Next to La Boss hotel in Jln Melaka Raya. Very good value and generous. The herbal pork rib soup is unique Melakan style.
Kedai Minuman Siang Chiang Coffee shop - Very good wonton noodles and Ban Mian cooked in great ikan bilis stock. It is opposite Hotel Hallmark Inn.

Thank you for the information! This is really helpful, was thinking of going to Malacca for a trip during the upcoming long weekend.
A friend of mine said that Malacca is supposedly known for a satay steamboat - instead of soup the items are dipped into satay sauce. Do you know which restaurant has this?
Thank you in advance! -

You have to go early as the queue are usually very long.
See below blog for info:

Planning to go Malacca in Aug, any good hotel to recommend?

Hatten Hotel is the best so far. Linked to the major malls so itβs really convenient for families with kids in tow. They have a promotion going on, you can check their official website. But full for the Hari Raya long weekend already.
