at last Sat meeting, did P release or share info from last 3 years' batch -
roughly what's the percentage of (Mainstream + Geppers) both from P6 batch(es), enter RGS Secondary ?

can share with us overall what did P talk about at the meeting ?

RGS was still the preferred Sec Sch for our girls last year. Followed by NYGH.

The parents still prefer all girls Sec Sch but since most have affiliation, the girls there may already have their own friends from Pri Sch. Whereas RGS will have students from everywhere (maybe more from RGPS), so is easier for the girls to find news friends there since most of them are in new environment.

NYGH have many girls from ex NYPS.

They tend to form clique, since they knew one another from Primary 1 school days.

            Due to affliation -
cut off point for outsiders to join NYGH is higher, than RGS (no affiliation from RGPS)
many of our girls tend to select RGS Secondary.

Indian & Malay pupils who take Tamil, Hindi or Malay language -
can’t join NYGH, since NYGH SAP school only offer Chinese, as Mother tongue.
But they can still go RGS Secondary.

Out of RGS Sec 1 cohort -
The primary school with the highest number of pupils enrolled there, come from our school.

              Hi

Selected for interview for PV @ RGPS - can I know what are the questions asked? What needs to be prepared?
Also if I have a younger child that’s a boy, is it still wise to consider RGPS for my current girl? Since I have to think about PV again in 2 years time…just wondering if I shld just drop RGPS and instead consider a mixed-gender sch in my neighbourhood…

Would like to know how is the culture of the school? Is it very competitive. Also I was told the mean score of the psle is not that high if we exclude the gep classes. Is that true? Most importantly are there lots of homework and how’re the teachers there in general? Also what would you all identify as rgps girls’ profile? Eg outspoken, aggressive, caring…

Lesser homework, even in P6, Lesser exam, Lesser school enrichment class, lesser stress if parents are not so kiasu.

Girls are happy, independent, good aural expression...calm, not aggressive...more.

Not as competitive as what you hear from people.
Not as much homework as what people think, in fact very little in my opinion
So far DD's teachers are all very responsive and forthcoming.

All in all, not the stressful, pressure cooker environment that some people may think of schools like RGPS. None of the teachers told us DD needs tuition even when her results slipped.

So far those whom I encounter are mostly well adjusted individuals. You'll get some drama queens, they are girls after all.

As for mean score, I don't really know, never really keep track.

Thanks for yr reply. How abt the CCAs? What are their core CCA? Choir? Also how is the chinese standard in the school? We have heard of children from such ‘angmo’ schools hate Chinese…there’s lots of diff comments abt d school but I guess the current parents may have better views compared to hearsay. Thx
