Titank, The agency fees I paid is $600+. So, I have to get my replacement before maid’s loan finish. I guess you will have to pay for new insurance and agency fees after 8mths? I also realise its really stupid to pay for high agency fees. I was so inexperience in handling such things with maid agency.

If we hv finish the maid loan we can either return the maid to existing agency or send her a home country?Any recommend air ticket to Phillipines?Dun know sld transfer to other employer as she is still blur like sotong after working almost 8 to 9 mths with us.

If the maid is done with her loan and you have no more free replacement from the maid agency, it would be better if you could send her back to her home. In that way, you are assured that her work permit is cancelled and you are no longer liable for her.
As for air ticket, i have no idea, but you may like to call the travel agencies and do a comparison.

Ya maybe would analyse the Levy (21 Days) Vs the cost of an air ticket. I have foc replacement but seem the agent is specialise on Myanmar Maid. When it comes to foc replacement they seem not so keen in thier service. I would said lousy after sales service they had given to us.

Today, my maid put a stainless steel bowl in the microwave for heating!

Luckily i saw it and it was on for a split second.
May i know what will happen if she continued heating?
          Will the microwave be damaged?
What will happen to the bowl, will it catch fire or explode?
I have emphasized to her so many times that metal things cannot put into the microwave oven, still dunno.
My 1st maid did not use the rotating plate in the mmiccrowave oven and it died a sudden death.

Last time when I was living in a student hostel, some not very bright kid put a whole egg in the microwave to cook. There was a huge bang - the egg exploded right through the top of the microwave oven. :!:

I don't know if the microwave oven will be damaged or not, probably the food inside the bowl won't be cooked as metal may block the waves :?

Blobbi, wow, the egg shell must have some how hardened till it can blow the roof off!
That's what i am afraid of.
Microwave spoil or bowl spoil not so bad. Just afraid it will explode or catch fire.

                  Dear carebear,

The microwave oven will be damaged, but there won't be any explosion.

hi titank, for airtickets, go online to find. If she's from major cities, can go for budget air. It'll be way cheaper. Can try http://www.airfares.com.sg (Misa travel based in Chinatown, they've been around very long) - their rates are very competitive, I use this as a first resource to compare.

hi everyone, how much do you give your maids for ang pow? For a new maid, my hubby gave $20. I thought it was too much because within this one month, she broke my plate, my clock, refrigerator door. I thought $4 was good enough since I didn’t even deduct her salary for the damage she’s done which of course we all know the garment says cannot deduct blah…blah…This is also one of the main reason why I only have one kid. No support from anyone and the garment wants more Tiger babies???

hi peapot, my maid only works my mum's house. I heard my parents gave her $20. I gave $10 (cos I eat there and my kids are there during the day). $20 is ok - though if she's so careless and all, $10 is about what I will give. $4 is what 'non-family' give lah.

Give her a chance, and keep her happy - maybe she'll try hard not to break anymore things? Keep in mind, even we will break things (although her breakage rate per month is very high). My measure for maid is usually how clean she is, and how honest she is.

Something funny. My mum's toilet window opens in direction of yard. One CNY night, maid didn't sleep but was chit-chatting with her fellow maid friend from downstairs. Poor thing....she was being quite quiet...but her friend talk like loudhailer....my mum was awoken and quite mad at being disturbed. Told my mum she should be happy that not everyone in this patch got maid....else maybe got 高峰会议.
