I could not find Fabian Ng's PSP for P1. Think it starts from P2.Hi Jennifer/E3,
Thanks for all the input about models.
My son is reluctant to use models and hubby often has to remind him. We didn't expose him to models earlier, so last year he had a tough time using models to get the full marks for problem sums.
Looks like I better get Fabian Ng PMP for my daughter going to P1. Will try to learn from the mistakes made and not repeat with my gal. -

My dd worked on the Math Olympiad and Challenging Problems by Andrew Er last year. I did not notice whether there was Fab Ng's PSP. It's possible that there is no P1 book. There were also questions that require the use of models in the Math Olympiad book.
Janet, I've always liked Fabian Ng's assess books when it comes to using the models so decided to get one this year. However, I felt the first few model drawings technique quite simple so perhaps you can start your dd with the P2 PSP if you can't find the P1 book. Do it over time. Don't have to rush. -
Hi E3,
Thanks again for your advice…I think I better go easy on my daughter when she goes to P1. Don’t want to frighten her.
I get Andrew Er’s Challenging Problems every year for my son…didn’t get Dawn Tai’s Challenging Maths anymore because son said it’s too difficult. -

oh yes, i have heard my girl talking about the form but i had not read it yet. Hope that i still got time to fill in today...Dyh,
I told my son to donate from his red packets.
He said this year's donation card is not just for the existing school but also for the new building. Anyway, just donate what we can since it's the thought that counts.
BTW mummies, have you done the survey in Lead.com ?
It's regarding the bookshop vendor. -
janet_lee88:
my girl not yet given me the card...Hi Mummies,
My son came home with the donation card yesterday. Don't know if the info is correct, but the teacher said the donations will be for the construction of a new school nearby just for P1 and 2.
He also added that it will not be a big school but just for lower primary as all primary schools have to go single-session by 2016 and existing school cannot take in P1-6. -
One of the impt criteria why I chose Pei Hwa to PV is that it’s a Christian school. I’m a Christian and really hopes that my DS will also adopt the same religion when he grows up. I’ve long accepted that we parents have no right to arm-twist our kids for such a personal thing.
Could someone advise me what is the Christian education like in school? Thanks. -
E3:
Thanks E3!!
Hi mumof3,mumof3:
Hi,
My DD is in phpps, P1 this year. Is there any CA1 for P1s? Does anyone know how the format will be like and what will be tested?
TIA!
You can refer to the Subject Weightings in the Homework Diary. There is no CA1 for the P1s.

Great! That was why mine was landed in pei hwa. According to my child, during assembly, they have time of worship, which they sing praises and pray. Once week, there is a 30 mins period of Christian Value lesson. During recess, there is a group of Glory mommies who will solicit prayer needs and announce for anyone who is interested to pray. Last year, her FT, who is also a Christian, lead whoever willing to pray before exam. And everywhere in the school compound, there are bible verses to remind and encourage the pupils. One of the impt criteria why I chose Pei Hwa to PV is that it's a Christian school. Thanks IJJ, what you said is quite reassuring to me. At least in a small way I did my part to get DS the opportunity to receive good Christian education.
