when kids are grown up, it means I am also older…which means more aches.
i’m happy with the way things are presently. -

Not my dh. He said he is going to play golf everyday at retirement.starlight1968sg:
We have a colleague who is re-employed for a few years after retirement age because of his expertise. He is getting close to 70 years old but looks so young and nobody believes that he is approaching 70. We used to tease him that he loves the office so much that he prefers to stay in office than home. He is already well to do and this job is merely to keep him alert and kill time.
I have noticed that men usually would like to work as long as possible. They will feel so bored n useless if you ask them to stay at home. Its not that they need the $$$ but rather to keep their minds n bodies busy.
He met a few retirees at golf course. They really play golf everyday, in Singapore & Malaysia.
Absolutely NO way I'm letting him play golf everyday :skeptical: -

Looking at my mum and dad after Daddy retired, I think I will encourage DH to play golf everyday. Better still go for overseas golf trip, once a month. Well maybe just save 1 day a week to go jalan jalan or for family matters.

Why not? My father did just that - retired and golfs almost every day. I feel he could more usefully have done other things with his time (not to earn money, more as a contribution to society), but that was his choice. Frankly, I think my mother prefers him to golf daily as he will interfere with her housekeeping too much if he hangs around at home all day. He's home in the afternoons and evenings anyway. Not my dh. Why NO way, sleepy? I recall reading you didn't quite like it when he played golf during early days when your girls were younger because he occupied a lot of time golfing than with the family. But after he slogged all those years to retirement, he still won't be able to get his deserved full-me-time, golfing? Not my dh. He said he is going to play golf everyday at retirement. sleepy: go pick up golf too...can play with DH everyday in your twilight years.
Active ageing is very impt for old folks. Either you pick up a sport or hobby or skill, or stay at home to take care of your grandkids!
My dad is playing golf nearly everyday now! -
jetsetter, I think sleepy can play well.. :please: She shared before that she accompanied him during his golfing sessions, but not often.
