Yes, my DS's registration should be sometime mid of the year. I think I'll complete my 40hrs of PV by May. Was told by the school that they try their best to limit the number of PV so that hopefully none needs to ballot. However, due to unknowns like number of church affliations & community leaders applying, sometimes things don't go as planned. As in E3's case.

I used to go to the 7-mile hawker centre for lunch and also to observe the students and I must say they are a good lot. Really looking forward to the day DS gets accepted into the sch πŸ™
Your chances of getting in is very high. Those residing within 2km need not ballot at all for my dd's year. No worries. πŸ˜‰

Simply fantastic huh? Talk about holy-stic education! We both attended mission pri schools and it was the main criteria when we were choosing a primary school for dd. So much so that we decided to move house! I appreciate the fact that the children are being prayed over and for constantly. My dd has definitely benefited from this as she's enjoying school a lot. It is something you just can't get at a non-mission school, no matter how prestigious. The verse that is found at the back of the school \"With God all things are possible\" had in fact brought myself through the harrowing registration period!

          Buckbrick,
Holy-stic is such an intelligent and creative play of words. :celebrate: Hmm, is it copyrighted?

Haha thanks. Was in my mind right then. Not so sure about the copyright seriously! Hope your kid does well in that aspect.

            Hi Mummies,

I like the verses on the school. They are meaningful even though I’m not a Christian. I’m very proud that my son is in Pei Hwa.

If one day your kids become Christians, then you can remind them about the Fifth Commandment whenever they are naughty. Wouldn't that be great πŸ˜„

                Hi markfch,

Whether they become Christians or not, I just want them to have a good foundation in primary school, be it Christian/Buddhist or Catholic.
Family support is crucial esp when the child goes to primary school. It’s good that your family is mostly staying in the West so anyone can pick your son if you are unable to do so.

                  Hi janet_lee88,

Yes, agree that family support is crucial. In the process of persuading sis to shift near my home too. Since DS only child, really hope he can at least have close relationship with his cousins.

                    IJJ,

Having a child is not cheap, let alone 3. I admire you.
You sound like someone I know.  There are many who are not rich but they have many kids. Its just a matter of how you choose to live life, how you balance it qualitatively and quantitatively. πŸ˜‰

Agree with IJJ. Janet, I have 3 girls just like IJJ. My girls' ages are quite close to hers too! πŸ˜„

                        Hi IJJ/E3,

It’s not easy having kids now, esp based on one breadwinner. Fortunately we don’t have a travel bug, go to restaurants or believe in enrichment lessons. After getting rid of the maid, our finances are not so tight.
I’m glad we stopped at 2 because education is not easy and we as parents have to be very involved.

                        markfch,
I hope you succeed in persuading your sister to move closer to you.
