      strawberry mummy:

Does MOE allow me to use my cousin's address?
      !!
MOE Statutory Declaration form state only either grandparents or the parents' sibling allowed.
Must be immediate next of kin closely related family members, to the parents.

Nowhere in the form mention include parents' cousin.
Your cousin is not your sibling.
Cousin is not an immediate close family member.
Can be second cousin (bear different surname), distant cousin.

And grandparents or the parents' sibling have to go down MOE premises, take an oath.

        phtthp:
If Principal of Nan Hua has mercy and understand how 2A(2) parents feel, especially those staying more than 2 km, and this P has a Big kind heart, she would love to help and accomodate all 2A parents to return back alma mater, not leaving any single dear child behind -

believe she will go all out, try her very best, appeal to MOE, open an extra P1 class this year.
Because the announcement from MOE on \"40 seats put aside\" took many 2A(2) parents by surprise.
        The announcement came, without warning.
Even if 2A(2) rush to join alumni, they can't react in time -
        For this batch, born 2008.
Let's hope that MOE give approval nod her head, open 1 more extra class.
be a hero, save all 2A parents.
Just wondering who decides on yearly intake number of students? Principal decides but final approval by MOE? I noticed as we are transiting to single session, some pri schools are reducing the number of pri one intake gradually. Not sure whether nanhua is currently dual sessions or single session? I hope rgps intake will not be reduced... :xedfingers:

Can the MOE show us the data how many PR went in by phase 2A1 and 2A2?

Phase 2A should be given priority to SC too and not PR. I have seen parents who are PR from young till now, have no intention to convert their kids to citizen. Since they are old girl or old boy, they can just go in thru phase 2A. This is injustice. These group of people have been enjoying the benefit at the SC expense yet refuse to convert to citizen. These group of people should be ban from going thru any phase 2A.

Nan Hua primary is currently already operating Single session.

her daily school hours (Monday - Friday), for (P1 to P6) students are :
              7.15 am to 1.30 pm

              refer Page 4 :-
              http://www.nanhuapri.moe.edu.sg/wbn/slo ... 14-GEN.PDF

for this year intake (born 2008, for 2015 P1) -
if Principal of Nan Hua is going to fight for all 2A(2) to return to alma mater,
because 2A(2) are caught off guard by the sudden \"40 seats reserved\" announcement, P can put forward proposal to MOE with supporting reasons, try to open an extra P1 class.

Yes, if P want to, she can definitely propose.
But, ultimate decision maker is still ... MOE.

whether final outcome is approval or rejection, still lie in the hands of MOE.
the ball is in the court of MOE.

if outcome is Rejection (No, MOE reply Sorry, cannot open extra class), next question to ask P is:-
can she have compassion and mercy, try to absorb those 2A2 SC been balloted out ?
instead of 30 kids per class, is it possible for her try to slot in these extra balloted out kids, to slightly over 30 kids per class?
But P do this discreetly, quietly -
only after the entire P1 registration exercise is over, in end August.

These group of people should be ban from going thru any phase 2A.
MOE will not publicize data in detail, to public:-
how many PR entered by Phase (2A1 + 2A2),
because this is highly sensitive data.

But if you're keen, you may make a trip down personally to the school itself (the school that you're interested in), try to ask the admin staff or VP discreetly : last year how many PRs got in ?
think of some valid reason why you need to know, before go down.

Another way is on the actual P1 July Registration day this year -
seize this great opportunity to go down to school premises, hang around the Registration counter until around 4 pm, gather \"live\" intelligence info on the spot : see on how many PRs apply vs. how many got in successfully ?

              i)
              Nan Hua primary

for this year (born 2008, year of Rat):
if no balloting occur in 2A1 :-
means 2A1 PR kids still can enrol, successfully.

but if balloting occur in 2A2:
means cannot accommodate all 2A2 SC children.
2A2 PR kids will be the first, asked to leave.

Can the Principal then request 2A1 PR kids who had enrolled earlier to come out:
hey please give way, make space for 2A2 SC kids, because not enough seats ?
              Answer : No
once a Phase has been announced over, cannot touch any kid that had been enrolled successfully.

              ii)
              Nan Hua primary

for next year (born 2009, year of Ox):
if balloting occur in 2A1, because all 2A2 rushed forward in time to join 2A1 :-
means ALL PR kids, have to leave.

Through this \"40 seats put aside\" announcement, MOE has cleverly devised or built in an automatic feature or mechanism -
to control or self-eliminate PR kids enrolment in Popular schools, depending on what situation arise on Registration day.

Over time, going forward into future next few decade(s) -
once 2A1 ballot in Popular schools, all PRs automatically eliminated.

Or unless another way is ...
wait for one day in future for MOE to intervene & start announce that strictly allow only SC children to enrol in Phase 2A; PRs banned.

What is the difference between ACS Pri and ACS Junior? I have the intention to put my son in either thru Phase 2A(2) - For a child whose parent or sibling has studied in the primary school of choice.

                  Check your husband PSLE cert.
What is the name printed on that cert ?
Is it ACS Junior or ACS Primary ?

You can only enrol your son under Phase 2A(2), according to the name of that primary school printed on PSLE cert, or on the Report card.

You cannot anyhow jump from one ACS school, to another.

The only exception is unless ... your husband ever transferred school before, from one ACS school to another ACS school.

                  Example
Transferred from ACS Junior to ACS primary (Barker road) for GEP education P4 to P6, in the past.
                  Or vice versa.
That meant he was an ex-student, from both schools.
Even if it was for a short period of time like minimum one year, it is still counted.
As long as he had ever studied in that primary school, before.

Meant he hold 2 report cards with him, not just one.
Then Yes, under this Transfer circumstances, you can enrol your son, in either ACS school.

Otherwise, if no transfer took place -
Then register 2A2, according to that name appearing on the PSLE cert of your husband.

The difference between these 2 schools is :-
ACS (Primary), Barker road is a GEP centre.
                  ACS Junior is not.
Junior is just another ACS school, in Novena neighborhood.

                  Between these 2 Schools -
Naturally, demand for the one at Barker road is higher, since she is a GEP centre.
It is easier to enter Junior.

                      Good evening to All,

Hope to get some advice and thoughts regarding my child’s primary 1 registration this year.
We are true blue Singaporeans staying within 500m from Ai Tong and will be in Phase 2C. With the confirmed 40 seats for 2B and 2C starting this year, what will be the chance of securing a place?
                      Thanking all in advance.

Hi, I should say balloting may be required for within 1km SC.

I have a friend who stays more than 2km away from Ai Tong and she is not going to register her child in a top primary school in North (within 1km from her house) but decides to use alumni to help her child enter Ai Tong in earlier phase. She shares that she is not going to take the risk of trying for that top school within 1km from her house but to go to a school that is sure to confirm to accept her child. Ai Tong is very far from her house but she has no other choice but to opt for Ai Tong (she told me confirm can get in), rather than to try for that top primary school which required balloting at phase 2C for SC within 1km.
