When choosing a maid agency ,don’t just go for the name or discriminate the agency just because its a new one. Check on MOM Website that agency have any demerit points or not, then check the transfer rate, if less than 15 or 20% should be good.

When i was taking my maid i had a good talk about this same question as yours to my agent, why so expensive… my agent did share with me, some times, the agency here just bring in anyone from the village side, no training, not even 1% training so this kind of maids all cheap cheap lah… those girls come here got background training more expensive loh…

some agency don’t even allow the employers to Skype or talk to maid, just choose from album ok confirm liao.

Can I check if there is any regulation relating to minimum notice period to maid?

        Thanks in advance.

anyone encounter problem to employ old helper back, after change new?

we have just changed a new helper for a week+ and realised we miss the old one. Intention to change is we thought she want to go back home. :stupid:

This new one is completely new & has several request just within a few days! :slapshead: Initially everything agreed and now she asked me why we do not let her do this and that!

We intended to employ back the old one but she has already find herself a new employer! Though she is interested to come back, but there are some paperwork that the new employer has signed. she's still in sg and will not be going back home anymore.

We checked with her agent and she said cannot do anything already since paperwork done. But we suspect might be due to her wanting to earn the commission hence rejecting our request. She even suggest to help us find other transfer maid! 😓
            pay & pay again... :slapshead:

The WP has yet to cancel. anyone can advice if any other solution?
by the way, my new helper has yet to do her WP since the old one has yet to cancel.

Ok, I am not commenting on how to get the ex maid back solution part. Just a bit  on the highlighted part.

Now I just don't know why the agent should agree to your request since a new employer has already been found for the ex maid and agreement signed.

You let your ex maid go, got yourself a new maid, not happy with new maid and want ex maid back. But ex maid has found a new employer (even though her wp with you has yet to be cancelled) through her agency. New employer signed papers and probably submitted documents and made some payment.

How do you want the agency to break the business deal with the new employer? Is it fair to the new employer who might be in need of a maid urgently (I guess this is not your concern).

You should know how difficult it is to find a suitable maid since you are already unhappy with the new maid which I guess must be the best out of the several you have seen.

Oh dear, and you concluded that your ex maid's agent is out to earn commission just because she rejected your request to cancel your ex maid's contract with a new employer + she offered to help you get a new maid is to get you to pay and pay.....she is just offering a service and you called her not she calling you for business.

I have a maid too and I know the frustration in getting a suitable (not fantastic) maid. But is it really the agency's fault that it rejected your request?

Am currently looking for a maid to take care of my elderly brother who just suffered a stroke. Not easy.

                  Hi
We knew that it's not the agency fault in any way. Just that we are encountering many family problems recently and hope to lessen one helper issue. :xedfingers: thinking of need to change another maid mean need effort, time, luck & $$ again. I would say mostly is all about luck..
In fact my agent has been quite a great help all these while..

It's really hard to find a good helper these days. We have already prepared for the worst to go without a helper if this new one goes on having more patterns. We do not have so much $$ to keep on changing helpers and replacing them. Recent agent fees and replacement fees are far too much and doesnt helping us employer at all. instead we are at the mercy of these maids ..

Maybe that's one of the greatest fear for a couple to start having kids..

you might want to check with MOM? did you sign any transfer letter?

Technically she's still your employee if the WP hasn't been cancelled. Better to trust MOM than the agent. Their commmission is at stake.

Hi if the application has just been done, i mean just ok, they can call in to MOM to withdraw, that is if the new employer is ok with it… The new employer has every right, to refuse. But yes it will be unfair to the new employer,

legally she is still ur DFW, if work permit IS not expired or cancelled. just make sure ur agent dun change it away. paperworks, i guess it is all the agency's stuffs and the insurance thingie w potential new employer. just work out w agency.
