Also common leh tai Taos can be so busy with their lives the don't even hv time for kids. Sahm and ftwm all must remember our responsibility to our kids is a duty, not a favour don't you think?

A lot.. i thought now we have like 7 days of child care leaves for both parents which is like a lot right :?

Sorry don't even need child care leave, this was a weekend class but parents nowhere to be seen for prolonged periods according to the teacher, unless we assume parents do shiftwork, then it is possible but lower probability.

Yes, we know our responsibility. But we also can choose to outsource this responsibility. Like
              - send them to childcare/student care if we have to work or have other commitments
              - send them to tuition/enrichment if we are unable to teach effectively

Hm … Depends lah some outsource until Bo chup completely some outsource but still know what is happening. If won’t even turn up to pick up a kid … A bit too much lah. Kids need to know mum and dad are interested in their lives also.

as long as not complete outsourcing LOL.

Outsource also must monitor. Also need to remember not to outsource the core functions…

Even organizations do not outsource their strategic functions. I agree responsibility cannot be outsourced but some tasks can.P

I guess parenting is all about spending quality time with our kids and teaching them right, doesn’t matter whether u r FTWM or SAHM.

I know a SAHM whose child spends half the time in sch and the other half attending tuitions and enrichment classes. She told me her kid is beyond her control and she just has to ‘send’ him out of the hse to keep herself sane. This is very sad cos the more she doesn’t spend time with him, teaching him, the more out of control he will be.

When I 1st knew this family the kid is just 5 yrs old and was already very spoilt and behaved like a brat, now he is already 9 and has total disrespect for his mum. I witnessed a couple of times when he shouted at his mum and was very very rude, almost treating his mum like a ma
