Hi, I need some help and advise here.

My hb was in a rulang pri school which is currently <2km from our place from pri 1 to 3, despite didnt complete all 6 years education in that school does he consider ex student..? He had lost all document, and I had just recently obtain a copy of school letter from moe, isit that with just this letter to proof that he was once a student there be sufficient or do they need to see report book too?
I doesn't want to go through balloting under phase 2C school nearer my place, do you think I should just try rulang pri school under phase 2A2 , if unsuccessful den it will be automatic cancel and worst to worst I can try 2C right?
Base on all ur experience does balloting usually happen during phase 2B onwards.? I check that rulang always had ballot during pase 2C. Please correct me if im wrong, what im thinking is just to try my luck to enter rulang. Or drop that idea , enrol 2C will do. Haiz... confuse..
You need to go down to Rulang primary school -
Show this MOE document to the Principal, confirm whether she accept this document as proof of ex student.

Settle this, before actual registration for Phase 2A2 in July.
Do not assume that Rulang school will sure to accept.
Get the confirmation done (whether yes or no), before actual 2A2 actual registration day.

Just wondering how I should go about..

My daughter is due for registration for p1 in July. Initially thought was to just send her to my alma- mata at Holy Innocents primary school (HIPS)at hougang. But I'm residing at Dakota area. The thought of logistics will be a nightmare and I've heard from my friend who's son is in HIPS that there are loads of homework and I need to administer and go through with the kids.
I'm having a second thought of sending my daughter to a nearby school instead. Aren't many options- Haig Girls, Tanjong katong primary, Kong hwa ( hard to get in).does that mean that it depends on my luck now? 😞 not sure and lost as to how and which school
Has a higher chance to get it... Advice? Anyone? Thks.

Go to your alma mater. If really cannot cope with logistic, then look for transfer.

While I think popular schools in Yishun are Chongfu and Northland, I like the character building and Arts niche of the school. The teachers (of course not all) do a lot of extra to work with the kids.

Should request a meet with the VP or P to find out more about the school.

If you ask Yishun residents, they will tell you Northland is better than Chongfu now and most will go for Northland. A well-known fact that Northland is the preferred school in Yishun now.

Chongfu School tests not as challenging as before and many can score Band 1. Previously under old leadership, the test standard is so high and difficult to score.

You can try to enrol in Pei Hwa first if you feel your child is capable of academic challenges and waking up at 5am every morning. One hour bus journey is long but if your child can get used to it, one hour bus journey can be a bonding session for the school bus children to talk to their friends. I feel that you should speak to your child about the primary school selection and seek your child's opinion. After all, it is your child who is going to be studying in Pei Hwa. If you think that you are prepared to change school for your child in the case that your child complains of the long journey, you can still seek vacancy in a neighbourhood school. I feel that Pei Hwa is a good school and you should go for it. Have a good discussion with your spouse about your child's primary school selection too.

                    See how it goes.
If really later got logistic issue, then seek Transfer later.

                    As for Sch bus -
May not take 1 hour so long, if your school bus is such that it pick up your child last (journey to school), and drop her off first (backward return home journey), ie last in first out method. LIFO

You should pm Mrsbongz. She stays in CCK while her kids are in PHPPS.

She should be able to share with you her experience.
