      Just Mama:

Many thanks for the info. Will try to log on to KM ...

Dont think my girl will even try the accelerated programmes. We are happy if she can manage existing cirriculum.

The Maths accelerated prog selection is not just based on academic test results. Also must be recommended by the teacher. There is a quota too.

I asked my boy how he feels about the daily workload and pace. He said he is able to cope and does not think it is tedious yet. He also hope to get onto the prog to see how much he can be stretched. Anyway, after the selection, there is a trial period of a few weeks. By then, we will know whether the child is suitable.

Thats good, at least there is a trail period. Yr boy is very sensible, wants to stretch himself. Sounds like a very motivated student too.

Heard from my girl that the current maths topic is from sec 3 text ... not sure if it is true.

I asked the teachers why compared to RI sec 1, NJC JH1 seems less homework. The CL teacher said sth like the sch does not want to push too much too soon.

not sure leh. she met a few ex-primary classmates during cny. many of them already quite stressed with schoolwork - dhs, hci, cedar, vs, etc... njc definitely more relaxed - up to now.

Maybe XS too small so cannot put in all the letters, so only NATIONA šŸ˜„
