Since my service is only short of a month...can't they consider based on my active contribution as well as my effort n grant me the letter? I will definitely work harder moving forward.

Have you talk to your chairman or CD? How long have you been as an observer?

I know of cases where the appeal is successful even when the GRL is a member officially for 8 months only

Write to your MP direct, who is your last hope. If he/she knows you personally through the many grassroots events, that's even better. Their emails can be easily obtained @ http://www.parliament.gov.sg/list-of-current-mps. Cheers!

You must first consult your Chairman, he/she will have to write a recommendation letter justifying your contribution before it will be routed to your MP. Go thru a proper channel otherwise you might as well go to the meet the people session.

If you have difficulties asking your Chairman, u can ask the Constituency Manager.

Hi all…thanks for the advise…I’ll talk to my chairman again tonight when we have the monthly meeting…must cross the fingers I can get the letter…if not, I’ll then resort the last chance to meet MP! Wish me good luck then!

I am staying at Joo Chiat and the nearest CC where I can volunteer is Kampong Ubi CC (part of Marine Parade GRC)
My school of choice for my son is Maha Bodhi which falls under Marine Parade GRC. He is due for P1 registration in 2017.

I wanted to confirm if after 2 years of serving the RC at either CCC or CCMC level, I should be able to apply for a letter to be in phase 2B.

Correct? Or did i get something wrong?

Is Joo Chiat under Marine Parade GRC?

You can only apply for the school in the SMC/GRC of your residential address

Is Joo Chiat under Marine Parade GRC?

You can only apply for the school in the SMC/GRC of your residential address

Joo Chiat and Marine Parade are different, separate GRC.

Maha Bodhi primary is under Marine Parade GRC / constituency, but not under Joo Chiat GRC.

Under Joo Chiat GRC -
It lists out only 3 primary schools.

If you are staying in a HDB block -
go to the lift landing.
Next to the lift is a notice board -
It inform you which GRC / constituency you're staying in.

MOE website say by 25 July they will announce the results, so how do we know?

Will MOE sms me or email me? or I have to go to the sch to check?

At the end of each day for each phase, http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/vacancies/ will update the total number of demand and supply number for each school. On 25 July 2014, the website will also be updated to reflect whether the school need to conduct balloting and which group of applicants are affected (e.g. SC or PR and whether they are staying within 1km, 1 to 2km or > 2km) Based on the updates, you will know whether you need to go down to the school on the published date for balloting.
