$1m gone in 2 years: Widow is now broke
-
Honestly, i feel like slapping her after i read her stories.
Hb and i calculated, if they spend SGD3k monthly (>RM7.5k), the money can last them for ~28 years. RM7.5k is a lot for a Malaysian, it is consider luxury kind of living… -
I don’t buy her side of the story 100%… …
Look how healthy they looked in the photo and the way they left their baju all over the floor on the background… …
耍心機 de… …
Need more ‘help’??.. -
The amount should have lasted her till the kids have finished secondary school at least…I don’t buy her story at all…the part about her giving money to relatives and going for holiday is something I feel is very wrong.
Investing so much money in her brother’s company?
In any case, she is not supposed to touch the money. -
$400k in 5 years is impossible especially if staying in JB. Even if go for long holiday every year. Or a few luxurious holiday each year?
-
I too find this story incredible. It is not easy to spend this amount in a year in Malaysia. They were mourning too.
No big ticket items like a house. Can’t spend that much on food surely. It is unlikely that she chartered private jets and lived like the rich and the famous.
There is more. The sums do not add up. -

She spent $400k in 5 MONTHS :nailbite: Not 5 years. -
Money easy come easy go.

I am simply speechless..
I have a helper plus my family of 4. We spend less than 3.5 to 4K a month.. most of the time with extras..
This kind of story.. I only pity the kids.. the real victims..
It takes donkey years to save 1 million and she lost it all in a year? She think she millionaire
I am not going to throw my money down the drain like that.. -
She was "cheated" by her brother la.
$50K to pay family debts prior to accident.
$100K 1st lorry.
$400K 3 more lorries.
Business folded. Half a mil gone to her brother…another half just spent on god-knows-what.
The publication of this news story was strategically timed to remind Singaporeans that you need to maintain a min sum in your CPF account, in case you become so muddle headed when you’re old that you squander all your savings in Genting (like this widow) or on your good-for-nothing kids; cheated by your conniving siblings/relatives, your future mistress in Batam or Dongguan or your second spouse; or lose your monies in some bad investments.
Not everyone is savvy to manage a large sum when they are old (in this case, the widow isn’t even old).
