      Hello,

DS1 is in P1 at the moment. As I'm planning on applying for DS2 for intake 2015 and looking back at the last few years, Phase 1 is normally on the 1st week after the June school holidays. According to MOE, the elder sibling will be given the application forms for DS2's application. Could someone enlighten me on when this form will be given out and returned? Is it before the Jun holidays? Cos it is likely both parents will be traveling 1st week after the June holidays. Tks.

PS. Can a grandparent apply in place of the parents?

Hi, have you rcvd your form ? it was handed to the boys in Late April / early May.
Since your DS1 is currently in the sch , only need to fill in the form. Do not need to apply in person .
      Cheers

A survey was done in late Apr, with almost all the necessary submission details to be submitted if applying for admission in 2015.

Actual application form was given last week to be submitted by current sibling in the school with the necessary submission details if it was not given back in Apr.

So yes, do not need to apply in person, if everything was given as requested.

I just wanted to ask if anyone else has been disappointed with the organisation for the PTC meeting this week. I don’t think I am the only parent from my son’s class to complain about the last minute arrangements.

My daughter’s school is usually much less organised than Maris Stella but they opened registration two weeks ago. I gave feedback to both the office and the teacher that to only enable us to book on Monday for the Friday of the same week is very inconsiderate towards the parents and our schedules. I don’t want to take a whole day’s leave for a 10 minute meeting but I need to know when it will be so that I can arrange the rest of my day.

I tried to send tis via my Android bt not successful. hmm??

yes, maris tends to be lagging behind when it comes to such events. I had to call the office to chk if they had given out letters. Cos the info was that only selected pupils will get to have tis PTM. My daughter’s sch is way more efficient in organising this. done 2 weeks back liao. and they devoted whole day.
Why Maris only less than half a day? is it like that for upper primary?
            My kid in lower pri.

              Hi,

Does anybody have any update on the setting up of After School Care in the school? Any idea when it will be set up & who the operator will be?

I believe the school sent a letter on this back in Jan14.

It should have commence since 1Mar.
Fee is from $280-360 depending on school term or school holiday.

                Operator is called Learning Campus.

You can go download the circular from the school website.

Maris Stella primary (Full school) had slashed intake from 300 last year (2013), to 270 this year.

since 30 seats are gone : expect balloting this year for -
                  - Phase 2B : SC children,

                  - Phase 2C : SC children less than 1 km, and

                  - perhaps even Phase 2A2 may need to ballot.

if Phases from (2A to 2C) need to ballot -
all PR children staying < 1 km, need to come out, give way to SC first.

                  last year (2013) vacancies -

Can someone explain to me how the school’s cca bus transport works? Does that mean that all CCAs and supplementary classes are conducted at the same timing? So that there is one shift of cca buses for all areas? Many thanks!

I know that the school bus only caters for remedial lessons, not CCA. You have to make your own transport arrangements for CCA. I questioned the bus operator before since they pick up for remedial, why not CCA and her reply was, remedial ends at the same time for all students. However, you need to let the bus driver know in the morning, so he will not wait for you at the usual dismissal time. HTH :xedfingers:

Actually, the school bus does cater to CCA. You need to let the bus operator know so that they can plan the route and let you know which bus to take. For my son,he has to pay S$5 each time he takes the school bus back to student care after CCA.
