Anyone in NHPS resides in the East?

Possibly registering my son for P1 next year under Phase 2A1, but we dont intend to shift from East (near Bedok) at the moment.
Exploring if there are Easterners that are willing to car-pool or jointly charter a regular taxi to ferry the childern.

The reservation starts from Phase 1, this year 2014 July

          example:
MOE had shown that Total Available vacancies for Phase 1, at Nan Hua primary, is 240

          http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/vacancies/#clementi/

          let’s refer
          last year (2013) intake
          Total vacancies = 240

After reserve \"40 compulsory\" seats (set aside) -
          reservation starts from Phase 1 : (240 - 40) = 200 vacancies, available

          @ end of Phase 1 (sibling) : 133 Taken

          @ end of Phase 2A1 (alumni) : 27 Taken

          i)
          200 – 133 = 67 (balance)

is balance 67 sufficient, for Phase 2A1 ?
Yes, because 27 out of 67.

do 2A1 (alumni) need to ballot ?
          No need

          ii)
          200 - 133 - 27 = 40 (balance)

How many 2A2 actually registered ?
          50

is balance 40 sufficient, to accomodate Phase 2A2 ?
          Not enough
          shortage of (50 – 40) = 10 seats

          do 2A2 (ex-students) need to ballot ?
          Yes
10 children from 2A2, would have been balloted out.

          amongst the 10 kids -
all PR < 1 km : would need to give way to, SC children first.

              Tokidoki:
I think this yr phase 2A1 numbers sure go up.

phase 2A2 folks sure pay alumni fee to move up 1 phase.
              This year (2008 batch) -
those 2A2 who can't make it in time to move up to 2A1 -
Their seats will be snapped up eagerly, quickly by 2C < 1 km.
This year is the best chance for 2C, to snap up these miracle vacancies, because many 2A2 staying beyond 1 km can't possibly register under 2C < 1 km.

If you scrutinize Nan Hua P2A past enrolment statistics -
              out of the 3 distance range(s) -
both 2A1 and 2A2 have the highest number of registered applicants, falling under > 2 km.
              http://www.nanhuapri.moe.edu.sg/cos/o.x ... id=1084434

So for 2A2 who did not make it in time move up to 2A1 :
2C waiting to grab your seats, smiling broadly.
All eyes will be on 2A2 > 2 km.

This year : if 2A2 need to ballot,
PRs need to give way to SC.
If After All the PRs have already come out, and the new number of SC applicants (only) goes below or equal to the balance made available for 2A2 (after reserve 40 seats) : then 2A2 can escape balloting.
SC will depend on the number of PRs to give way, rescue them, from balloting.

              Next year (2009) -
will see a rush to pay alumni fees, faster join 2A1.
2A1 number will definitely soar !

The more popular the school is -
The higher the number of 2A1 registrants soar

Hi Parents with kids in Nan Hua,

I am about to register my kid in 2A2 and am trying to find out more about the school from parents. Able to share your thoughts about the school? Are your kids happy or do they feel stress? And most importantly , are the teachers caring?

                  tks in adv

even if pay alumni fees, still may not be able to escape balloting

let’s refer last year (2013), Nan Hua primary intake
                    Total vacancies = 240

                    Phase 1 (sibling) : 133 registered

                    Phase 2A1 (alumni) : 27 registered

                    Phase 2A2 (ex- students) : 50 registered

                    ================================================

After reserve \"40 compulsory\" seats (set aside) -
                    reservation starts from Phase 1 : (240 - 40) = 200 vacancies, available

@ end of Phase 1 (sibling), entering 2A1
                    200 – 133 = 67 (balance)

... But what if all the 2A2 parents registered in time to join Alumni association last year, all became 2A1?

                    This mean that there'll be:-
                    27 + 50 = 77 2A1 applicants, fighting for 67 seats.
So there will be balloting, in 2A1

All PRs come out in 2A1 (no chance to ballot)
                    SC > 2 km ballot

majority of Nan Hua alumni fall under > 2 km !

Looking at the statistics, 2A1 may need to ballot... so stressful :scared: :xedfingers: now.
