That's too draining. Teachers won't be teaching new stuff anyway. There should be time to do practice papers during school hours

I took my son out of supplementary classes...if the purpose is just to get past year papers done, I see no point attending them.

5 days a week till end of term 3 will make kids burn out before PSLE. That is as good as not sitting for it.

my friend’s child did very well for prelims but totally tired after it and didn’t do well for psle.

I think dd is already very tired now. She didn’t have a good break this June holiday, had supplementary classes the 1st week of holiday and tons of homework to clear in the 2 weeks "holiday".


She’s back in school since Monday for supplementary classes and yes, they are doing practice papers during these lessons as the teachers have completed the syllabus in Term 2. Thankfully, the teachers did not assign much homework these 2 days, so I am letting her take a breather in the afternoon.

agree, 5 days for entire term 3 is SUPER draining.

happy that my dd’s supp classes for term 3 is very reasonable. twice a week for 5 weeks only, finishes by the week b4 PSLE Oral

Parents should decide whether the extra lessons really help or not, taking into account how tired the child will be, other lessons/tuition etc. It’s best to look at the total amount of work the child has and decide how much he/she can take.

On other extream , My DD studies only about a month ago for all major exam, PSLE & O level. This father's day when she wished me, i asked to study atleast 6 weeks before A-level.

Looking at above post , i guess it is alright to get may be little less optimal result than completely whacked out result because of tiredness.

That's VERY intensive. If the extra lessons are not benefitting, or if it's too tiring for your child, can opt out?

My dd's classmate opt out for this week's supp class. But I dunno what is the reason given.

Cannot opt out :sad:

I really concern that my child will be burn out before PSLE....

I guess I need to let my child to rest on Sunday to 'recharge' energy and mentality...effective next week.... (totally no revision except to clear up school homework)
