All About Full-Time Maids

Mrs Ang:
Oh my goodness! :yikes:My mum overheard my Indonesian maid speaking in English when talking on her hp a few days ago, which is a surprise as she always speak bahasa when on her hp. As my mum doesn't understand English, she didn't know who and what is conversation about. I hope is not anything bad going on.
Btw will I be able to send my maid back to her hometown for good if her passport is going expiry a few days before the departure date?
TIA
Don't you try that!! You will be in deep trouble.
Your maid's work permit will expire one month before her passport.
If you try to keep here till after her passport expires, the authorities will come after you! even before her passport expires. -
Ok so I should send her back before her work permit expired. Still thinking whether to keep her.

Hi,
Just wish to get feedback if anyone has ever allowed the old maid to meet the new maid for ‘handover’? For my case the handover is for the purpose of elderly care medication and feeding. -

It depends on whether the current maid is going back \"willingly\"
Some employers do not want handover of job because they do not want the current maid to know they will be repatriating them or they do not like the current maid's style.
Some wants overlapping and handover so they do not have to teach the new FDW from scratch. Current maid can guide and coach new maid for a few days before going home.
Diff employers diff ways of handling!

I would not trust any maid when itcomes to giving medication, its best u instruct urself. Its not too difficult to train the new maid on elderly care. The current maid may not want the new maid to know too much.Hi,

I agree. I would rather train the new maid than let the old maid handover. -
I am letting my current maid orientate my new maid. I am also taking the chance to do a major spring clean since I have 2 maids for a while.

I agreed . I will take this opportunity to train just in case next time if this current maid makes mistakes in the medication , she will just simply put the blame on the ex maid . -
I have a maid for 9 mths, and she also have finished her loan with the agent. can i just terminate her contract and send her back to her own country without keeping the maid agency in the loop?

Why are you thinking of sending her back?
She has worked for 9 months but earned next to nothing.
Let her get a transfer. Unless she has done something drastic.
If you don't need her any more, or you're just not satisfied with her work, let her get a transfer.
