If SC>2km balloting in 2C in RGPS when the ballot will happen? Will it be on the 1st August’14? When it will be known which Schools will have 2CS?

The Principal’s letter recently sent mentioned that Gate 2 was underutilised. Past experience from Semester 1 was, that gate is hardly open in the morning.


Since Semester 2 started, Gate 2 has been open from 6.30+am, until just this morning, I had to bypass the gate because it was still closed. Another car had to do a 3-point turn just in front of the gate because it has come from the Ghim Moh direction.

The Principal was there at the foyer when I had to pass Gate 2 to drop DD via Gate 1 at 6.35am. Perhaps Gate 2 is ‘under-supervised’, instead of ‘under-utilised’? How to use the Gate when it isn’t open in the first place?

Phase 2C (public) -
Start on Wed 30 July
End last day : Friday, 1 August

Balloting day for P2C : Wed, 6 August

School will notify only those parents who need to ballot : the venue & balloting time, :-
After the last day of 2C enrolment, but definitely in advance Before the actual balloting day.

By end of 2C : all seats will be taken up, in our school.
There is no 2C Supp, for Rgps.

On last day of 2C : Friday (1 Aug), around 9 pm -
MOE will update the enrolment statistics, for 2C that has ended.
If there are any schools that still have vacancies After 2C has ended -
These schools will enter next phase : 2C Supplementary.

MOE will reflect on website, which schools and the number of vacancies remaining for 2C Supp, before 12 Aug.

Enter by Gate 1 (this is the main RGPS entrance).

Because If you park at HDB car park, at Block 1 -
Note that Gate 3 small side gate is locked up : from 8 am to 11 am.
That means from morning 8 am to 11 am -
you cannot enter by Gate 3 side gate, because it is locked.
after parking your car at HDB car park, you can still walk by foot, to main entrance, Gate 1.
(about 5 to 7 minutes walk : depend how fast you walk by foot)

If you park at HDB car park Block 1, please kindly park in the lots, meant for the public.
Do not park at the lots reserved for Ghim Moh residents, nor park at lots reserved for handicapped.
Because residents will complain to school Principal, if Rgps parents or visitors park at their residents' lots.

Want to ask the chance for a foreigner to successfully register for P1 at RGPS.
We are staying at Bukit Timah Rd and now panicked.
Seems like all schools at Bukit Timah Rd area are top notch schools and no chances for foreigner to enter.
Any idea which school should I go to and try my luck.
My girl will be 6 years old next year and we are foreigner without any passes.

Foreigners can only apply under Phase 3.

For Phase 2C (only for SC + PR) -

i)
four schools here (MGS, Nanyang, Henry Park, Pei Hwa Presbyterian) primary :-
All require SC to ballot, within 1 km, from each of these 4 schools.
SC greater than 1 km : no chance to even ballot.

ii)
RGPS

last year (2013) : SC balloted within 1 to 2 km.

SC greater than 2 km : no chance to even ballot.
SC > 2 km who had registered earlier : were told to withdraw, on the last day of 2C.

By end of Phase 2C -
Above 5 schools are full house, 100 % occupied.

Iii)
Bukit Timah primary

SC who failed to ballot into Phase 2C, will rush for it, under Phase 2C Supplementary.
As such, Under 2C Supp -
Bukit Timah primary becomes a hot favorite.

Bukit Timah primary is the only school, that still have very, very few limited seats left, for Phase 3 (foreigners)

I suggest you email MOE :
try to obtain last year 2013 list of primary schools under Phase 3 (for foreigners), that have vacancies.
From this list, go through each school, see which school you're interested in. Then call up that respective school, talk to the Principal / VP, find out more about the school.
