Hi, I have no idea that it was Chung Cheng High 75th anniversary. If you could let me know by pm if the students involved are those from the CC Yishun side? I am short listing the sec schools that I want my dd to go in future. Chung Cheng High is on my list. This, I'm concerned about the behaviour of how the students behave.

Chung Cheng High is a very good sec school and I have no doubts about it.

I think this is immaterial. Are you saying that you are eliminating schools based on this pix?

I agree that its not rite for the couple to misbehave in public, but that doesn't mean that only Chung Cheng students do so. Can you guarantee that other good co-ed schools do not have such behaviours?

Also, this pix is not clear. Is the stomper very sure that they are Chung Cheng students?

Now, if there is a pix of 2 RI guys or 2 RGS girls smooching in public, will you eliminate that choice?

I feel that you should look at the overall view of the schools that you are selecting n not on this basis only.

            Hi sembgal,

You have no idea that it’s Chung Cheng High 75th anniversary when it’s all over news the last couple of days.

And u claim that u have no doubt that Chung Cheng high is a very good sec sch that u are considering as a choice sec sch for your DD and yet u actively post those very old negative stomper acticle without first making clear any valid good reason for doing so.

I drawn to my own conclusion of your motive. I have only one advise to u, whatever it is let it go and move on, life is short enjoy it. By holding grudges will only hold u on a spot.

Is Chung Cheng High School (Main) a really good school??? I have seen the booklet on ‘Choosing your secondary schools for admission to Secondary One in 2014’ I realised the section of ‘School Information Table’ on Chung Cheng High (Main) noting that the express stream is only ✩ a white star. However, in the booklet on ‘Choosing your secondary schools for admission to Secondary One in 2013’, Chung Cheng High (Main) note that the express stream is ★ a black star. So, is it that their academic drop??? Thanks!!!

What is your definition of a really good school? What is your criteria?

Did the booklet say that a White Star is a good school versus a Black Star - not a good school?

Perhaps you can elaborate more on White vs Black in order for us to understand better n make comments?

On your question, "Is Chung Cheng High School (Main) a really good school?",

if purely base on the ‘Choosing your secondary schools for admission to Secondary One’ yearly booklet, I think Chung Cheng High School (Main) should be a above average Secondary School.

But if you are identifying the right secondary school for your DC, solely depend that this booklet alone is insufficient. You need to look at a wider spectrum.

One factor that I think is very important that you may also wish to take into consideration is that your kid, he or she must really like the school and is convince that this is the school he or she want to go. I am speaking from my own experience, if the child like the school, he or she will be self motivated to excel. So your DC involvement in the school selection process is also crucial.

Cheers & happy school hunting together with your child

Is your DC having addiction to his/her hand phone or always being distracted by his/her hand phone? Any good advice?

I have not been reading the post for quite some time and I was prompted to refresh my connectivity with this parent group. After reading the past few postings, I was rather saddened by the tone of the correspondence. In my humble opinion, CCHM has done a wonderful job in nurturing her student population. As with every place or organisation, there is always the good, the bad and the ugly. We cannot always rely on the school to rein in our child should he or she stray. I remembered attending the parent orientation organised by the school earlier this year and the discipline master was constantly emphasizing the role of parents in ensuring our child toe the line. Their years in CCHM, if given the right push and motivation, could be the best years of their lives. As to whether CCHM is delineated according the number of white or black stars, I can only say you need to walk the ground and realised for yourself that CCHM is at times understated. Hope this goes some way in alleviating the atmosphere ! Cheers !
