We’r going to register Poi Ching under Phase 2B but keen to monitor the situation at St Hilda under Phase 2C

As we are living within 1KM to St Hilda and we’r SC, what do u think of our chances?
Feeling stressed…any kind advise is appreciated 

If you had secured a place in Poi Ching, should stick to it. Once you give up your place in Poi Ching to try your luck at St. Hilda's you can't go back to Poi Ching should you fail to get a place.
It's too big a gamble to take.

Hi, I'm trying for my son for NCP under phase 2c. If I register online, how would I be informed of when the balloting will be? Since the MOE website says result for phase 2c will be out on 6 Aug, does it mean balloting would be done before or after?

Balloting is carried out on the results announcement date - 06 Aug. As for timing, please call the school to enquire.

Thanks for the quick reply... sorry, 2 more quick qn, anyone know if we can register for NCP via MOE online system?

If we submit our registration online, how do we submit those documents needed? Eg vaccinations records. Do we still need to go to the sch of choice to drop the hardcopies?

Many thanks for your kind advice... 😄

Once you get into Poi Ching under 2B, don't come out already.
Poi Ching is a good school.

If compare Mainstream to Mainstream, Poi Ching do not lose out to St Hilda.
If you can, try to get hold of last few years' results, from both schools -
                Only compare the Mainstream only.
Poi Ching Chinese standard is higher than St Hilda.
Poi Ching English & Maths PSLE results, do not lose out to St Hilda.
                (Compare Mainstream only)

Only the 2 extra GEP classes at St Hilda enhance the school reputation slightly.
Otherwise, Poi Ching itself is already good.

After you enter Poi Ching, next time can transfer to St Hilda, if really want to.
But to withdraw from 2B and try your luck at 2C, far too risky, better avoid.
Unless you are not yet secured a seat in Poi Ching, then by all means try, because you got nothing to lose.

Actually there are parents who purposely shift houses, close to less than 1 km, from St Hilda.
                Actually, not necessary.
                Can go Poi Ching first.
Next time if child really offered P3 GEP, than later seek Transfer into St Hilda, or to Tao Nan, bec only 2 GEP schools, in the east.

In Tampines, Poi Ching and Gongshang are some of the better schools.
                Tampines primary also catching up.

Balloting was fast, within 30 mins settled… the 1 that withdrew from hpps was from phrase 1 not 2a1…

                      Hi

                      Can someone share their experience?

For monitoring of the number of applicants and their distance, is it easier to be in the school to ask or does the school update it on notice board or for the parents to check themselves? I would imagine if all the parents call, the school will not have time to entertain everyone and this is on top of the walk in parents.

                      Thanks!

Better go down in person live in school, ESP. After 3 pm, on the last day of 2C.

If you can’t go, send a relative or friend go down, on your behalf, to help you.

Not all schools use white board, to update stats.
                        Many schools don’t bother.

If you dial in, the person pick up the call is not the P1 registration officer.
She may not release info, or say she does not have the latest updated info, etc. or she may say she is far from where the P1 registration counter is, ask you call back later.
Some schools if you dial in - phone line always engaged
