Tulpen:
hubby said i backside itchy ..wait both also can't go in..we will faint..

St Hilda primary does not start Higher Chinese, until P4.
St Hilda P1 Chinese is normal Chinese, Just like any other neighborhood school.

In contrast, Poi Ching P1 Chinese standard is high, something like China students' Chinese standard, where they teach many more Chinese Character vocab words, not just teach hypy.
In fact, Poi Ching P1 and P2 Chinese standard, is even higher than Rgps P1 / P2 Chiness.

If you compare a P3 student from Poi Ching and St Hilda -
Chances are on average : the Poi Ching students' Chinese are much stronger than St Hilda students' Chinese.
Because foundation had been built up, since P1 Term 1.
In fact, once your Chinese is strong, you have an advantage.

Also, for P1/P2 English -
All schools use similar Stellar English workshts to teach grammar, vocab.
So, doesn't matter whether you go Poi Ching or St Hilda.

P1/P2 Maths -
Most use \"My Pals are Here\" workbook, to practise questions.
So, again, not much difference.

By the time all P3 sit for common GEP tests -
If your child is offered GEP, then go St Hilda.
But if you prefer SAP school, then choose Tao Nan.

Normally, P3 students staying in Tampines or Pasir Ris, will choose St Hilda, since near to them.
(For those offered GEP)

Hi, want to find out.My Ist choice is Nanyang Primary School 2C, 1-2km. Singapore citizen. And my 2nd Choice is RGPS 2C ,within 2km.Do u think my chances will be higher for RGPS…as compare to NYPS? Pls advise me.

Do you think there’s any glimpse of hope of even balloting for NYPS?

Kiaseemum:
Balloting at Phase 2A(2) will be conducted on Thursday, 17 July 2014.

No.\tSchool\tBalloting Information
1\tCHIJ St. Nicholas Girls' School\tBalloting will be conducted for SC children residing outside 2km of the school.

2\tHenry Park Primary School\tBalloting will be conducted for SC children residing outside 2km of the school.

3\tNan Hua Primary School\tBalloting will be conducted for SC children residing outside 2km of the school.

4\tRadin Mas Primary School \tBalloting will be conducted for SC children residing outside 2km of the school.

5\tYu Neng Primary School\tThe school only has places for all SC children in this phase. No balloting will be conducted.

The vacancy position for Phase 2B for all the primary schools can be obtained from MOE website or from the MOE Customer Service Centre (Tel: 6872-2220) by 8.00pm on Friday, 18 July 2014.
Quite a lot of CHIJ St Nicholas parents are Catholic.

For those SC balloting at 2A2 > today -
if you fail to ballot in today, don't be too upset.
You can still enrol for another CHIJ school under 2B, if you're a Catholic.

Example
CHIJ Nativity is a school, with small intake.
Due to small intake : the teachers & school here are warm, very closely knit.
You can enrol there first, while at same time put your dd on Waitlist, at St Nicholas.

Or you may try to enrol in other CHIJ school, nearer your house. (For Catholic)
After all, you belong to the same CHIJ family.
Once an IJ girl : always an IJ girl, whichever IJ school you go.
And IJ girl always a confident girl.

If you go to nyps website, under 'admission' and p1 enrolment data', you can see that since 2004, the number of applicants always exceeds the number of vacancies and the applicants are all living within 1km. You might be right in saying that you don't stand any chance at all. Rgps has quite a number of vacancies spilling over to 2B and 2C. It looks promising. You should try rgps instead.

Unless you have a boy, I am curious as to why your 1st choice is nyps. Rgps is as good as, if not better than, nyps.

I understand that there are 24 applicants for 14 vacancies at St Nicks with balloting conducted for >2km.

This means that there are people who definitely got in below 2km right? So I’m wondering if anyone knows the actual applicants >2km vs available slots in the actual balloting exercise?

phtthp:
For Phase 2C balloting, how does it goes? Example there is 20 places for 60 people. And this 60 people consists of those from 15 Phase 2B & 10 less than 1km etc etc.

So procedure is:
1. 15 Phase 2B straight in
2. 5 out of 10 less than 1km will get in
etc etc?? :siao:

2C must wait for 2B to End first, check how many seats left from 2B, to carry forward into 2C, before 2C can start.

Without informing us how many vacancies are left at end of 2B, we can't answer your question.
Because 2B comes before 2C.
Must wait for 2B to end first, then talk about 2C.

If you not sure, can refer to some examples worked out here
http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissi ... llocation/

Oh, i'm quoting in a situation like Radin Mas which sure in Phase 2C will only have that reserved 20 seats for balloting.

Just want to prepare myself :nailbite:

I suppose there will be spill-over from Phase 2B to Phase 2C thus wanna know how then the balloting will be. But i think someone before this has already asked similar question. Now can only wait & see :xedfingers:
Unsuccessful Applicants in Phase 2B do not get spill over to Phase 2C and no do have priority in taking up spaces in Phase 2C. They have to re-apply again in Phase 2C and their status is the same as all Phase 2C applicants.

Only vacancies (spaces) not taken up in Phase 2B will be added to Phase 2C.
