so how does it work? suppose a child is in class A; so if he is very good at chinese and not so good at maths; does it mean that he will be in class A for English, PE etc then will go to Chinese (Top class) and Maths (not so good class)? So all the classes have the same timetable so as all could move together? sorry.. can't imagine how this works.. wouldn't it be chaotic...

no, i didn't go to the open house cause it clashes with the open house at punggol pri. i went to punggol pri's open house instead.

The \"streaming' for Chinese is done base on the 1st semster result I believe. There are 2 groups for Chinese, meaning 2 advanced, 2/3 core and 2/3 basic. So I believe the timetable for perhaps Class A to C will have the same time slot for Chinese while Class D to G will also have the same time slot for Chinese so that they can swop class. This is my understanding.

hello, our boy is 2009 born, K1 this year. we signed up and are confirmed PV before 1 Jul. kiasu cos we live 1-2km. after attending the open house (we decided to skip the terrarium that we signed up for, as there were too many interesting exhibits and activities that we wanted to see and my boys really enjoyed myself with them), we are even more set on choosing PLVPS.


I think there are a few other parents here who have kids born in 2009 ya? Hello!! wave I am not sure how many PVs they have got. But judging from the email distribution list in the one that was sent to my husband, like just a few PVs. Anyway I am Carol and hubby is Robert. Pls introduce yourselves too!!

I asked my eldest what he liked about the school after the open house. He said: the eco garden with the fish tank, the art room, the level 6 indoor sports hall, canteen (cos can buy food by himself!), little fitness corner/playground (opp the student care), and the Fun Scientist programme conducted by Mr Thomas Low and his colleagues and students.

We missed Mr Clifford Chua’s talk that morning as we arrived at 9.30am, but we spent a whopping 4 hours in the school going around all the floors. Missed speaking with the English and Maths teachers, but it is ok. Have enough faith in the teaching staff from speaking with other teachers already. Hahaha…

Re: the walkway, I used to work in a govt agency that does urban planning so I understand where LTA and HDB is coming from, and they would have been the ones advising the MP. Perhaps the way to get a solution is to ask when the HDB developments will be completed, and if there can be a lower-cost interim solution that can be reached while waiting for the HDB developments between the school and MRT station to be built up. Alternatively build a covered walkway that is designed in such a way that it can be integrated readily into the new HDB developments when they come up? my two pence worth.

Glad that you have decided to choose palm view. My dd enjoys going to school. The teachers are great and they are caring. I still remembered the time when I had to choose which school to enrol her in , I went to visit the school website and happened to read Mr Chua’s message . I told myself this is the school that I want her to be …he has very good beliefs on what education should be like. I have not regretted ever since.

since you mentioned fun scientist programme…my dd enjoys it ! I must say that Mr Thomas Low and his team of teachers have done a great job in running this programme. My dd never fails to miss his session. Now my dd has become very motivated , she will go and read books on science, famous scientists etc.i am very very happy that she has become more curious about things around her.

Btw since cryanocrash knows the school pretty well, want to ask something…I noticed that on the school website, there is no hod science. Is Mr Low the hod science ? On the website he is listed as the hod IT and school staff developer …if he is the hod science , I am excited to hear how he is going to make science education fun and engaging for pupils since my dd is going to p3 next year…
