Any one knows where is Mr Thomas Low? My son mentioned that he has not seen him in school for a long time. He misses the way he conducts the fun scientist programme…is he still a teacher there ? Anyone knows? Cyanocrash ?

Anyone there for last Fri’s first day of school? Share your experience…

Overall good experience, the school has added some new enhancements, to name a few… the canteen , good that they now have the grills, at least the birds won’t fly in. I like the toilets at the ground level, well decorated with famous people & this is what I like most-the Science theatre! I presume the school is going to conduct science activities there.

I also like the drone flying demo. Attracted quite a large crowd. My son was asking me to get him one of those…the school really make learning interesting for the children.

That’s all. Also to benefit parents who may have missed last Friday’s session.

Heard from my ds today that the trip to the science centre had been an enjoyable one. The class got to watch science shows . He said that Mr Low was like a "tour guide" bringing them around and explaining to them how a cotton plant look like, how a whirlpool works etc.He even told me about the scientific method that scientists used to investigate things… Wow !

He enjoyed the science shows very much and he is already asking me to bring him to the science centre this weekend… One visit literally change him… I am glad that the school is really inspiring children to learn. And to all the new p1 parents in this forum…welcome…you have made the right choice …the most happening school in sengkang…

Wow! This page has reached 127 pages!

First and foremost, welcome all new parents to Palm View! Like what many current parents said here...the school experience so far is great ! If you are unaware, one of the teachers, Mr Thomas Low maintains a Facebook page where he will give regular updates on school events...you have to add him to receive information...I enjoy reading all his posts so far, his updates are timely and he relates to us more as a parent than a teacher. I got to meet him at the open house & spoke to him briefly. He is passionate about science education and his methods ,I must say , are \"unconventional\" yet interesting.

      https://www.facebook.com/thomaslowict

In his recent fb post, he mentioned that he has launched his youtube video channel where he archives all his educational videos and he shares it with us...take a look

      http://www.youtube.com/user/hunktom/videos

Also any possibility to request for Mr Low to open up the Facebook to the public instead of sending him invitation? Will reach more parents this way..Cyanocrash, since you are in school often, anyway you can relay this message to Mr Low?

      Hi carol and Robert,

Glad that you have decided to choose palm view. My dd enjoys going to school. The teachers are great and they are caring. I still remembered the time when I had to choose which school to enrol her in , I went to visit the school website and happened to read Mr Chua’s message . I told myself this is the school that I want her to be …he has very good beliefs on what education should be like. I have not regretted ever since.

since you mentioned fun scientist programme…my dd enjoys it ! I must say that Mr Thomas Low and his team of teachers have done a great job in running this programme. My dd never fails to miss his session. Now my dd has become very motivated , she will go and read books on science, famous scientists etc.i am very very happy that she has become more curious about things around her.

Btw since cryanocrash knows the school pretty well, want to ask something…I noticed that on the school website, there is no hod science. Is Mr Low the hod science ? On the website he is listed as the hod IT and school staff developer …if he is the hod science , I am excited to hear how he is going to make science education fun and engaging for pupils since my dd is going to p3 next year…

All the best carol and Robert…

I enjoyed reading Mr Low's fb page on the school. It really gives me a good sense of what my child is going through in the school. As cyanocrash's earlier message on this forum, I would encourage rest of the parents to connect with Mr Low via http://www.facebook.com/thomaslowict

You can also ask him questions and he is responsive. By the way when is the school's open house? I am going to get my sister to attend...will be good for her to take a look at the school when her own children is ready for school..

I heard Mr Low has a fb page. How do I go about adding him? Heard from a parent that he is quite receptive to suggestions as well as he will update parents on interesting issues pertaining to school life…I would like to add him. Anyone knows his fb id?
