          KSP:

You can access your chances on the last day of P2C by checking with the school. You need to be aware that NYPS has affiliation with NYGH for girls and it's a great advantage for your daughter if you are planning ahead for her.
Is this NYPS affiliation going to last? Thought I read somewhere the forum there was word it will be removed in a few years?

If one day affiliation for Nanyang girls is removed -
then wont be that hot, anymore.

doesnt matter for parents with daughters whether enrol into Rgps, or go Nanyang primary, anymore.

Did newspaper report start from which year they going to remove the Nanyang affiliation ?
Then children affected in those batch wont seek Transfer from Rgps to Nanyang, anymore.

No one can predict the future.

But looking at last year PSLE cut off points, It’s 251 for NYGH ( for NYPS) and 259 for RGS. Both are very high score.

Supposed to be some internal thing. Probably still hot, for parents with more than one child, or planning, at least. Also for the tradition, isn't it?

My point is- if I want affiliation, I would go for CHIJ TPY, St Margaret or Fairfield. Since their cutoff points for students from the affiliated primary schools are much lower at 200. Between RGPS and NYPS- I don’t think that difference in 8 points make much of a difference. ( haha that’s what I say now. Ask me again when my daughter is in P6)

Those 8 points matter, when you happen to lie in between that stretch. Generally the top 10% of the cohort score in the 250s, top 3% from 260s. Roughly 3500 good students, I estimate?

hope won't kena a heart attack on friday!

anyways, to take the heat off this registration thing a bit, for now can i just pretend my child will be attending the school next year and ask a few more questions? :please:

what is your pm session child's daily routine like? what time do they go to bed; what time do they eat lunch; do they shower before or after school; what's the best time for them to do their homework/revision, etc? what about enrichment classes and other personal hobbies/ccas? somehow afternoon sessions feel longer than morning sessions although they're really the same...

i will have to make some adjustments for my other child who will still be in kindergarten next year. may have to switch her to pm session too if older child gets into rgps. all the current afternoon hobbies/lessons will have to be moved to the weekends too.

ps: thanks to daddies and mommies for putting up with us nervous hijackers and for being so generous with your time and information!
