A little homework a day is actually not a bad thing. This ensures the student goes home and revise what was taught during the day. If we do not cultivate such habits, he/she will be overwhelmed by the huge amount of work they'll be taking home in time to come when they go on to Pri 3 and up..

My girl likes to play alot, but with simple homework, she understands the significance of revision.
