Is it? I thot it was a school-based one. My boy said the teacher announced the name & rankings in class.
I am pretty sure that competition is called the American Maths Competition.Jennifer:
My boy signed up and paid $2 for a Maths competition sometime ago before CNY. Ytd he did not mention the results. We did not know if it was for MO application.

noob:
I wanted to mean in general sch work/assignment/pop test/ etc.
Eh, which subject u refer to? :? Have not heard from my girl.Jennifer:
How are your children doing for the sch graded assignment/test?
My boy's teachers will announce the highest score (not who gets the highest score) for the assignment/test. I thought this practice is good as it lets the students know their standing in the class and at the same time does not bring too much attention to the highest score student.
Hope did not raise a false alarm. Sorry  -

Names & rankings in class? -
Jennifer:
Erm, i meant the tr announced it in their classroom lah. They announced the rankings only of the students who took the test of course. I think it's per class and per the whole JH1/JH2 level bc the test was common to both JH1 & JH2 - as in all from these 2 levels took the test together.phankao:

icic.
My boy told me he does not know his ranking. His teacher only announced the 1st to 3rd position. Is there a notice board showing this ranking info? -

hmm oppps my bad. I got misled by Jennifer's Maths competition. It just so happens that AMC is around that period and quite a few sec schs will sign their students up, so i thought her boy might be doing that. -
Jennifer:
Maybe challenging but she still could manage? This is what my boy always says - difficult does not mean I cant do ok.
My son said this test was so difficult. He didn't do so well. -

If I remember correctly, according to JustMama, Jeniffer's boy is a maths genious !Jennifer:
