Hi tccfairmont, St Gab is having Open House this coming sat, may 31. You can register for the open house online at the school website. I am attending it to know more about the school. cheers

Hi lukemommy, thanks for your response. Problem is we are currently living overseas so I can only do my "research" online. From what I have read in this forum, St Gabriel’s seem to have a homely atmosphere with caring staff who do not just focus on academic results but also social development. I would like to know if it really is so.

If you do not mind the trouble, perhaps you can share your views and opinions after the Open House? Thanks

hi tccfairmont, went to the open house this morning , didn’t expect the response so good, many parents and many cars !! Personal pt of view abt the school, I think its a nice school. Nice as in it has quite a munber of CCAs to choose from, pretty nice teachers (talked to a few of them) and school compound quite big. One of the staff told me they didn’t expect the response to its open house is so good. I asked her whats the chance of SC staying more than 2 km getting in the school. she said might need to ballot. Last year at P2C, balloting was conducted for PR staying within 1 -2 km. Frankly speaking, St Gab pri is not a popular school that’s why I chose it. Now even not popular school also need to ballot in P2C, headache…luckily I didn’t bring my boy along, if he really likes the school and didn’t have the chance to get in, he will be very sad…

Hi lukemommy, it’s tccfairmont. Thank you for sharing your views. Good to know that St Gabriel is a nice school. It seems so far there hasn’t been negative comments in this forum from parents whose children are in the school already.

Hi, can i check if there are any parents registering with Morning star after school care services? How are their activities like? And what’s their intake?

I wonder where the cut off was. All SCs admitted >2km? Was very well-subscribed at phase 2b compared to previous years.

Yes, 2b this year saw higher registration numbers than previous years. I'm phase 2c and more than 2km. Thought my chance will be slim this year.

Turns out well! All SC admitted plus around 10 PRs I think.

Am also surprised (but relieved) that the school didn’t have to ballot for 2C. Can’t imagine going thru more stress and anxiety…

Noticed that there’s not very much going on in this forum, which explains why not many people, including me, knows anything more about the school, apart from the general info posted on its website.

We all have our boys’ interests at heart, so perhaps more parents can participate here and, hopefully, with more exchanges, help the kids do well/even better in school.
