Raffles Girls' School (Secondary) [*IP]

Shanghaied:
My take - and it was once shared by a former senior NUS member - that students in the mainstream schools (RGS included) are on track for GCE 'A' Levels which are recognized by foreign universities, whereas NUSHS Diploma is more relevant for admission to NUS (and other local universities). Thus, a lot depends on what your child wishes to do in the future.
We like the confident rgs girls ,but would rgs be as good as nus high in math and science ?i mean in terms of exposure that nus high gives to its studentsNiharika:

Of course, any top student in either school would not need to worry since he/she would gain entry in elite colleges anyway. The same goes for top students in 'lesser' JCs...
FYI, my DD was not accepted by NUSHS but gained admission to RGS. So there was no basis for comparison. But we have no complaints.
Dear Shanghaied ,
Thanks for sharing .....truly appretiate your help .

I vote for NUSH since your girl is really good in Science.
Quote from NUSH principal's message in their website, 'we make nurturing well-rounded and world-ready scientific minds our core business and mission '.

You're welcome Niharika. Sorry for the use of the word \"misconception\". I don't know which other word to have used. Didn't realise it was an offensive word, again, apologies to all who are offended.Dear TCk ,

Sometimes unintentionally we end up hurting people ........and here in singapore we are a cosmopolitan crowd, English is not our mother tongue may be that's why we are misunderstood ........sometimes it also depends on the receiver and his/her temperament ..........my understanding is if our intentions are good we must go ahead and do or say things :please:.

'Misconception' simply means a mistaken thought, idea or notion.. Nothing 'offensive' about the word at all..

Ad the GEP/MS distinction is only for the first class placement - Yrs 1-2. After that, it doesn't matter.
:thankyou:jtoh:
Just got a CO from RGS today but dont understand what they meant by Raffles Programme (GEP)? RGS separate the GEPpers from the MS?
:congrats: and welcome to the Raffles family!
The GEP students are placed in the same classes together with some of the top mainstream students. The curriculum is the same throughout the cohort though. -
Hi there can any one share with me the book list for sec 1 .
