Vito, I don't bother queuing if its v v long, since I can come anytime mah ...

I detour and go to the vegetarian stall in the first row (think its called miao xiang) and get something from there.

Actually there is a char kway teow stall there that is not bad. Since my sec sch days was run by an old lady who trained her daughter or grddaughter. Now the latter has taken over. Its located opp the mee rebus stall, after the fruit stall, just walk a few paces down ....

There is a fried carrot cake stall oso not bad. Black one. Can't remember the name. Same row as mee rebus stall but before the stall ... *aiyoh, my directions confusing hor* šŸ˜‰

But at least now you have a few more options lah ...

      You live nearby??

Hi mods, this is DEFINITELY :offtopic:

The fried carrot cake stall is call siglap fried carrot cake. but the lady was sick, so the stall was closed for some time. don't know if it will open tomorrow.

Have you tried the bak chor mee (soup) one the same row as the vegatarian stall, next to the chui kuew stall? i have been eating this for the past 35 years... i find this better the then the ones at blk 85. maybe because i'm so familiar bah...

The fish soup opp mee rebus is also very good...

but... this thread is for bukit timah... maybe should start one for bedok.

Wah today's lunch was ... ummmm ... disappointing

Went there at 1 plus, mee rebus stall close. Miao Xiang also closed. In the end, I ordered the char kway teow ... but I think either I have become too fussy or the lady's standard has dropped ... didn't like it šŸ˜›

Carrot cake - which one did you order?? I personally like the black one.

                    autumnbronze,

same same, i stayed there until i got married. but i go back at least once every week. sometimes, i will just drive back during lunch time to take lunch there. šŸ˜‰

I think the char kuey tiao standard dropped - i prefer the one at blk 16 market. the char kuey tiao is better.

There was on kuey tiao tang along the siglap carrot cake row, but they are not there any more! alamak, don't know what happened to them, cos their kuey tiao tang is very good. maybe they decided to retire, cos they too have been there since the market opened.

I also like the malay food - first row 2nd stall. i like the curry puffs and sardin puffs. the skin is thin and crispy. just the way i like it.

 er .. I did not correct the thread title.

when I split the posts from the BK thread, I keyed in the this title. I did not use the thread you created as I have \"lost my power\" to merge threads. 😢
