        windows:

tamarind - wld like to check w you: how do we check which cr card cld be used? there is an option for mastercard as well in \"overseas payment\"?

        windows,
All the payment options are listed when you are about to make payment.

Mastercard also uses the Secure Online Shopping (Verified by Visa) feature, it is the same as the Visa card.

So far I have only used Citibank Visa to pay successfully for 6 times. dangdang website did not say which credit card can be used. They only say that they use the \"Verified by Visa\" feature. If you google \"Verified by Visa\" and go to the visa website, you will find that only Citibank credit card in Singapore has this feature.

Amex card is also listed as onle of the options. According to another parent, DBS Amex card is the eaiest to use.

I have no knowledge of other payment options.

How is your order ? Have they shipped out already ?

        tamarind,

i have just tried ordering from dang dang the si wu kuai du series of books, no luck, stil out of stock. They didnt process my shopping list, so i cant chkout what credit cards are accepted. Before u purchase this series of books, how do u kn its gd, since dang dang web dun hv much writeup? i saw other books bt dun dare to buy cos cant see hows the book layout and if suitable for p1.

              Hello,

Just want to share with everyone here.

The Word & Images bk 1-3 are found in Toa Payoh popular branch. Left 3 sets since the last time I saw it on Friday evening. I bought it at $26.xx after 10% discount.

As for the Word & Images bk 4 (which Wan has shown above) are found in Union Book Co at Bras Besah.

Hahaha! Same question as Pokemon. How do you know whether a book is good when there is no sample pictures (unlike amazon).

Can share? :clubmyself: I am very blur in chinese reading.

                    Hello Wan,

Yes I started using the bk 1 of Word & Images and also bk 1 of ChuJiHanZi500 just 2 months ago. So far ok lah. Even get my boy to act out the actions.

Plus I used other books as well such as Parachute Chinese, Odonata and Novum as well. When I used these books, I try to make sure the themes are the same, so as not to complicate the teachings. While doing the teaching, I try my best to follow my child's school curriculum.

I also trying to get hold of the rest of ChuJiHanZi500 (bk2-5) and now considering the SiWuKuaiDu. πŸ˜‰

                      laughingcat,

do u go thru page by page or use it like a dictionary? How many words do u teach per day? I was wondering if I should read some short stories b4 referring to the book as a dictionary n act out the words to reinforce. How old is ur child?

Actually there are lots of reviews, as well as pictures of the pages for most books.

                        For example :
                        http://product.dangdang.com/product.aspx?product_id=9213954

I look for the total number of reviews. δΈδΈ€ζ ·ηš„ε‘ζ’…ζ‹‰ has 16414 reviews, and the overall rating is 5 stars. So it must be good πŸ˜‰

I buy all the books that have hundreds or thousands of good reviews. I always read the reviews to find out whether the books are worth buying.

Parents who are not able to understand the reviews, can always check out my recommendations in my blog.

As for whether it is suitable for P1, note that our P1 Chinese standard is very low compared to China. I bought many books in the 3 - 6 age group : http://book.dangdang.com/children/3-6, I think many of our P1 kids will find the words in these books very challenging.

If the books are too difficult, I just keep them until my kids are older.

You can also look for books for age 7 - 10 :
                        http://book.dangdang.com/children/7-10

But note that kids at this age are already reading long novels in China.
